Corsa Xtreme Catback - Tips Don't Fit

I purchased a brand new Xtreme system over the weekend for a really great price. Going to install it in the spring which is going to make for a verrry long winter :(

I opened it up to check it out and put it together. I found that both of the tips are just a tiny bit too tight were they don't want to slip over the muffler outlets like they should. I've watched a few install videos and it seems no one else has the problem.

How would you suggest to slightly open up the piping on the tips, literally just needs 1-2mm. If I recall there is a notch on the right and left of the tip outlet to allow for expansion/contraction of the diameter.

I would call Corsa and have them explain that, not modify the exhaust.

But if I was to modify something, I would modify the pipe by just shaving some metal until it'll slip on, not the tip. Too easy to damage the tip.

That or just heat the tip a little until it expands some enough to shove on there.

I think contacting them would probably be a good first place to start actually, good idea thanks. Also noticed the right muffler outlet has a few small dents so it's not 100% circular, impossible to be a shipping damage so it left the factory like that. Not that it is the reason the tip won't go on but suck that it is there.

My ARH system was crushed a little on the ends of 2 pipes. Probably due to shipping because the box crushed. I just opened the pipe a little with pliers and it went right together.

Wow that's some pretty bad shipping damage. The box was in excellent condition which points to bad QA for my piece I think. Shit happens I guess

You are not alone, this has been mentioned before by other members.
I have the Sport mufflers with the same problem of extremely tight fitting tips. In hindsight l wish l would have used some high temp anti-seize prior to installtion. Any future adjustment of the tips will likely require removal of the AB from the car.:frusty:

I tried searching because I figured I am not the only one but I couldn't manage to find a thread about it. What did you do to get the tips on? I will take note of applying some anti seize in case I will need to adjust them later.

A little soap and water should do the trick. Mine needed some persuasion but no modification. I believe that Corsa even puts that in the directions.

I bought a Bassani system for my Lightning and it was so bad I had to get lap joint band clamps to seal the leaks on the midpipes. WD40 and a little persuasion should do the trick.

I too had this issue with both exhaust tips on my Corsa Xtreme. With the way the the tips are designed, you should be able to slightly bend the cut portions of the exhaust tips without any noticeable damage. By doing this, I was able to get the exhaust tips to fit.

A pair of pliers or vice grips should work.

I too had this problem with one of the tips. I just manhandled the tip onto to muffler and then gave a few taps with a rubber mallet to drive it home. I left the plastic on the tip, covered that with a rag and then a small scrap of wood. Worked perfect

Yep, my tips were the same way as every one else's. They just needed that cut expanded slightly with some pliers, then just jammed on there. Make sure you line them up right the first time with the corsa logo right on top, cause it'll be a pain to move them later after they've heat cycled a bunch.
