Are you responding to my post? Or to some voice in your head?

Because if your responding to me, you didn't really capture or respond to anything I said.

And you have somehow labeled me as something I'm clearly not.
Let's agree to disagree.

I'm with ya. I also participate in things that use natural resources....breathing is one of them.. To suggest that there's no impact at all from human over-polution and industry is cruising with the blinders on. Is some level required just to live in todays world, yes, I agree with Hack there - but certainly certain clean energy efforts aren't a complete waste. Is there no global warming, either? As an avid diver/spearfisherman - I can tell you that our oceans are degrading fast. There's not a person that will convince me that it's healthy for me, in my lifetime, to see reefs that have been there for thousands of years, degrade.

I 100% disagree with those that think burning gas is somehow wrong or that it damages the environment.
Sorry sir but when 97% of the scientific community says the opposite I think you might struggle to justify this statement, but everyone has a right to an opinion. Having said this I will say that whereas I do believe that we as a society are causing climate change I admit I do very small things to help the situation (in many ways I do the opposite), I guess it all seems a bit hopeless and pointless so why not enjoy life while I can?

Not sure which way is worse?

I recommend watching the new documentary/film that Leonardo Di Caprio did with NatGeo, it was released by them for fee on Youtube and its called 'Before the flood'.

If you really think that it's wrong to dig things out of the ground and use them, how can you participate in those activities? You should stop using anything that comes from the earth if you really believe that. Frankly - if you think CO2 emissions are "bad for the earth", you should stop breathing. Definitely don't have any kids, as they will use lots and lots of natural resources. Much more than any one car.

Greenies are so illogical. :frusty: What bothers me most is this false ideology not only costs the rest of us a ton of money, it takes away our freedoms! In the context of loving cars and gasoline engines, I don't understand why anyone on this forum could support this. Don't you understand that politicians and organizations are only pushing the green agenda in order to gain power and money?
Wow, just wow.

I'm not a "greenie", not by a long shot, but am I an engineer and fully understand the physics behind the climate change research and it is extremely sound. And for every "greenie" that is pushing the green agenda to gain power/money, there is an oil baron against it for the same exact reason, to maintain their power/money.

I would take some time to go over the independent research carried out by academics and avoid anything you read in the main stream media (from the right or left)

The thing about science is that it doesn't matter at all how many people think something. At one time 100% of the scientific community thought the world was flat.

Guess what - they were all wrong.

There are a lot of reasons why people will state something that is demonstrably untrue. Going with the crowd because they are afraid to stand out (this is actually very prevalent), knowing their funding depends on coming up with a certain answer, trying to "save the planet", etc. A number of people have been caught falsifying data to support claims that there is such a thing as global warming, for instance. After it became widespread knowledge that global temperatures have been going down for the last 20 years, they changed it to "human affected climate change". So now they say whether the temperature goes up or down it's our fault either way. What is wrong with this picture?!!? Lots of people have said that we are going to run out of oil soon. Also absurd.

If you believe in something strongly, you should act accordingly. If you think gasoline use is evil and CO2 will destroy the earth, you should stop using gas and do everything you can to avoid emitting CO2.

I can understand if you don't agree with me, but I have trouble understanding your behavior (buying a gas guzzling car) if you think there's climate change and that burning gasoline is causing something bad to occur.

I've heard from a friend who has close ties with engineering who said that the new 500 would have the 5.2l block and heads (modified cnc program) and the new tvs2650 blower that is the latest and greatest from Eaton and upwards of 720hp.
Oh, damn. Would buy.

My hope is that we don't see the 500 until 2020 just so I can enjoy the 350 in peace for a few years before moving back to the 500. I don't think I'll feel any burning desire for a new 350 if there is an updated model, but a new 500 would probably light my fire.

Especially if it had a(the) 10 speed that performed like it did in the ZL1

I give it two days before thePill quotes this in the GT500 threads, a magazine reads it and writes an article, Jalopnik and Horsepower Kings copy it, and he comes on here claiming they confirmed it.

There is a difference between taking off the blinders and seeing what is real and becoming an extremist for a cause.

I see that our species does damage to the planet. Hard for me to understand how you don't. And I also realize that based on big business, lobbyists and industry that nothing I do is going to make a spit of difference.

So when the rest of the world wakes up, which won't happen until it's too late, I'll continue to enjoy my gas guzzlers. And breathing.

I've watched you buy and sell over the years. I'm willing to travel to Vegas to lay big money on the table that you'll jump ship in a heartbeat when/if a well done GT500 hits the scene.:headbang:

That is sooo rich. Longest lol I've ever done.

Thank you.

Agreed Climate change is real and we are definitely causing it. Does that mean we can't enjoy our GT350's? No it doesn't. Many people don't daily their gt350 and most likely normally drive a different more practical and fuel efficient car.

Technology has got us far. Remember how much fuel it took to drive around a 500+ HP 70's muscle car? Had to stop at every other gas station. Not so in our GT350's. Less fuel means less pollution.

Just driving a GT350 doesn't mean you don't or shouldn't care at all. We do other things to mitigate our footprint. Started recycling a while back...bought water filtration as opposed to bottles... make effort to take the most efficient vehicle for longer trips... I'm not a greenie for sure, but I do care enough to make at least a small effort to be conscious of what's going on around me.

Well, I think that was exactly my point. Or sort of.

Anyway, I advocate enjoying life for what it is. Not much we as individuals can do. So I'm not going to be a martyr and drive a Prius.

I'm all for consumption. And embracing life and the moment.

Love both my V8 gassers. Cars are one of few joys I have in life. Thank the car gods above for giving us the voodoo.
