I would love to see the following engine line up. I am sure we will probably see a Hp bump next year.

2.3L Echo base
2.7L Echo upgrade
5.0L GT
5.2 L 350
The 2.7L would be awesome. However, I'd see no reason to keep the 2.3. Having 4 engine choices in the Mustang is a tad ridiculous lol. I think it'd be nice to see a 5.2L Cross-Plane in the GT maybe with DI. I think it's almost certain we will see some sort of performance boost out of the GT though.

Hell NO. Please NO.
I wouldn't mind if it could be turned off using a toggle switch
Nothing a tune can't fix though. It may be the answer to better fuel economy for CAFE standards. I wouldn't write it off.

I'm at SEMA this week and got confirmation again of all the rumored changes for 2018, but no one yet will tell me when when or where the official reveal will be, or when the Job 1 and on sale dates will be. I still think we'll see cars in early summer. The people I spoke with did confirm horsepower increase via dual injection, active exhaust, adjustable dampers, 10 speed AT, fascia changes, and updated infotainment. I'll try harder today to get better info.

Would be nice to see a revised 2.3 with RS components and dual fuel system.. maybe a hp bump to the coyote with direct injection and also dual fuel system.. :D

I'm slightly afraid that the 5.0 is done for after this update. It's all but confirmed. But still.. I guess it means my car will hold it's value being low mileage garage queen. Just makes me sad know I own a very real piece of American history before it ever becomes "history"

MY17 will be a VERY long production run. Don't expect Job 1 of MY18 to start before the 4th quarter of 2017.
This seems highly unusual for a high volume vehicle. For a special edition (e.g. focus rs, gt350, etc) late releases are common. I can't recall ever hearing of a production run starting so late for an entire vehicle line...

The great thing with DPI is the tuning capabilities. Look at the gains the new GTI and Golf R are getting with just a tune.

And if Job 1 doesn't start until 4th quarter I guess I'll be buying my 5.0 cash monies. That sucks though
Same with the Focus RS. Even Hennessy says to just buy his tune, hardware wont really do much for it... and that RS is pretty damn quick as it is.

Magna-ride would be cool tho. /shrug

Calm down and take some drugs,your 2012 is still a real Mustang,for God sake hang on to it,it"s one of the last real looking and performing Mustangs built.:amen:

Oh please this Ford is going to die because they didnt change the 2017 Mustang nonsense. Ford is selling nearly DOUBLE the cars monthly and the new Camaros are barely even getting to lots, with the turbo not even being built yet, and it's almost March.

Camaro is not going to catch up in sales before the 2018 Mustang to begin with.

And car magazine reviews mean nothing. The Camaro still looks like the old, bad visibility, ugly, and overpriced
How telling this quote is, lol (2/16). Camaro passed Mustang in sales in September.

I'm a Track enthusiast, Which I would guess is a very small percentage of over all mustang sales. The Mustang blows away the Camaro in almost every aspect of form, function, style, etc. except a small advantage the Camaro SS has over the GT on the track (which pains me to admit). The GT350 out performs the Z28. So, IMO, I don't see Ford in a rush to upgrade significantly in the next few years. But . . . you never Know!
I'm not sure the 5.0 is really close at all. The V6 Camaro 1LE was quicker than the 5.0 in Lightning Lap.

Watch "A Faster Horse", if you have Netflix, very interesting story about the entire design process that led up to the '15 release, including Job 1.
