Sometimes I think we believe more information gets to the execs at big blue than what actually does. How much of the cross talk on this car is staying within SVT, and what is being ran from higher?
Who knows, I certainly don't.

That sucks man!

I've been told that other vehicles having engine replacements/repairs were ahead of me. The last update I got was on Tuesday. They have my original engine out and were transferring things over to the new engine (no additional information provided). My advisor said they'd need a couple more days.

Well, things are definitely looking pretty bleak all over GT350 land at present. On a lighter note, how did the wedding go Kyle?

It was great Eric, thanks! I would've preferred taking my car back home on my trip, and having it be reliable ... oh well. Hope to catch up with you in person someday..

Congratulations on making it through the wedding at least. They can be a real bitch. (The ceremony, not the bride!) I'm sure I'll see you at Cars and Coffee in the future. Can't wait to see your next ride.

This happened to me last month with my Whipple GT, and it wasn't good for me, and I fear it's not for you either. OPG failure is the likely culprit and motor bearing are hurt like mine. The sound you heard when coming to a stop was what I heard (Oil pump gear shattered) and clanking around. Here is my thread thread on my failure. I'm sorry it's sounds like bad news for you my friend, and I'm surprised this happend to a non modified engine.

I'm pretty pissed the GT350 OPG are not billet steel right from the factory. Why would they be so dumb to use cast gears in a 8250rpm red line engine! This is unacceptable. The high rpm of the voodoo with harmonic vibrations are surly the cause.
If my cars oil pump gears ever go south, I'll do the repairs myself. Or maybe I'll swap them before hand.

Once the gear goes the motor is toast. I just got my Coyote long block engine last week. I've done the OPG, crank gear, MMR secondary timing tensioner and upgraded to Boss Primary tensioners with ATI damper. Took me 3 days to instal at this point it's 90 % complete, and that with Whipple instal as well. All done in my garage with a little help from my brother.

I know. I'm a mechanic. And I'm sorry you went through all of this. Ford should make the OPG from billet as oem. Not cast.
