$1,500 for a Dyno Tune

I'm pricing out a S/C install through Steeda. Their prices seem reasonable on the general install, but he's recommending a custom dyno tune because I have an automatic. The dyno tune is quoted at $1,500 (estimated to be a 10 hour job).

Give me your thoughts on this. Is it necessary since I have an automatic? Is the price good? Can't I just get a custom tune from any of the typical providers?

I see you are located in West Palm as well. Give Power By The Hour a call at 561-737-2331, they are located in Boynton. That is who installs all of supercharger kits for our shop vehicles. We also use Lund for the tuning. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I'm considering them, but Steeda actually charges less by the hour. I haven't priced them for this though. Do you know what they typically run?

Unfortunately I do not know what they typically charge. Give them a call and tell them the kit you have and they should be able to quote you out. Amazing installations every time!

I agree on Power by the Hour, they do awesome work. You could have the install done there and have Lund tune it...or...

Ken at Palm Beach Dyno is one of the top tuners out there. He tuned my brothers 9 sec 2012 and he was great to deal with.

What kind of supercharger are you planning to go with?

I got a quote from livernois for transport from Minnesota and tune and it was 4500 dollars. I was like good luck with that.

Palm Beach Dyno. Enough said. If you do not at least talk to Ken before making a decision you will be selling yourself short.
