Just can't get enuff!
Solid gold, Cooler was the big one. It was over $400
Off topic... maybe you can make it again- the last Track Night in America for this year at PBIR is next Tues 9/27. I'll be there with my FoRS. Use "summerfinale" as a $25 discount code on registration... so $125 for a track day, hard to beat.

Well $2700 for the trans sounds better than $4800

So hopefully the other parts can get some deep discounts.

All I need to do now is figure out how to get the trans to Germany
Find someone to install it

Oh and convince my wife that I need over $3k in parts

Really I may just do the external pump kit and upgrade the trans later.
I'm thinking that (after the swap) once I sell the 3160 that's in the car I'll come close to breaking even, or just a few hundred dollars, on the tranny.

I've just got some problems I'd need to work through, like how do I get the transmission here? It's too heavy for USPS. And where am I gonna sell the non cooled tranny in Germany? I might have to wait on the full swap until I get back to the states.

Was quoted $4200 cad shipped for the TP tranny. No idea how much and who would want the non cooled tranny.

One person(s) I can think of would be someone who's putting a Voodoo in an older car that might not accommodate the cooler components, or someone who wants to bolt one up to some other engine or s550 variant.

I'd start at no less than $2,000 US...
You could start by listing it here

Yes good idea Jim, but it would be less of a hassle for me to sell it locally as this is no lighweight item.

In the next few months i'll weigh in my options and see what route i'll choose to go.

Will wait and see what FP offers and at what price. Might also be tempted to swap tranny, i have a friend who owns a TP car and a well known racing shop, so i'll have a trusted place to perform any mechanical work and learn a few things at the same time.

Good to have options, Dan.. Your friend w the shop might also have some leads and give you a sense of what to ask for it. FWIW, if rumors are true, I'm thinking of the trans cooler w 3rd party external pump. Less complicated, expensive, keeps my original transmission...

This thread is making my head hurt. After it's first track day I ordered about $1100 worth of Ford and aftermarket parts. The following Saturday I Installed the OEM Ford Cooler, Brackets, Duct and connected the RB gear pump and cooler and trans with Russel black anodised fittings and Lightweight hose. It took a full saturday. I haven't looked back. Three HPDE's roughly 4 hours of track time and it hasn't missed a beat.

The rear end cooler is next. Using OEM cooler and brackets, another RB pump and leftover -8 hose. The parts are on the way. Where are the car guys? Has the hobby gone soft.? Break out the tools! It's much more rewarding than typing on this fricken keypad.

After my experience with a dealer replacing brake rotors. I don't want them to change a light bulb. I suspect my cooling kit will be very close to fords offering. The most asked for solution here involves The parts plus 10-15 hours @ $150 per hour dealer labor.
I see no way the least expensive FR solution will be less than $2500 by the time you pull out of the dealership.

If my tranny takes a shit and Ford bails out I'll fix it myself.
I've done a lot of my own work on cars. Engine swaps, set up rear diffs, assembled engines, rebuilt transmissions, built custom exhaust systems, of course fluid and brakes, but I JUST BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR!!!

Why do you think I would buy a new car if I wanted to do my own work?

I realize I can do it. And I probably will. Well we will see whether a better option comes up for me.

It's actually pretty insulting to say you aren't a car guy if you aren't turning wrenches. I just don't have the time at this point in my life to do much of it. I have enough obligations without trying to add a hobby. So please don't tell me I'm not a car guy. I've been there done that. I've daily driven cars that I built almost every system for them. I know I can do it. That's not why a bought a new car.

Al,
Can you share your parts list and some instructions for what you did?

Sure.

Here are the OEM parts I used with remote pump

FR3Z-7A095-C Cooler
FR3Z-7D388A Bracket
FR3Z-8310_F Duct
FR3Z-7R081-F Tube assy

If you are using the R/TP transmission you will also need.
FR3Z-7R081-E tube assy
FR3Z-7D388-A bracket

A few assorted bolts that are only supplied in packs of four or more.

Aftermarket parts

Medium size electric pump with 2 90 degree -8 male fittings
from RB racing. motor driven gear pump. 2.6 gpm Very quiet!

20' Earls -8 Earls pro-lite 350 hose
2 90 degree 1/2 pipe/-8 hose Black anodized
2 straight 1/2 pipe/ -8 male nipple Black anodized
1 90 degree 1/2 pipe/ male -8 Black anodized
5 straight -8/ female swivel hose end Black anodized
2 AN to tube adapter fitting 1/2 tube/-8 male black anodized P/N EAR-AT165008ERL
The oem cooler has male Ford specific connectors. I used part of the
Ford FR3Z-7R081 tube to connect to the cooler. The assy has the
female connectors then ~8-10 " of rubber hose then section of tube. I cut the tube and used the above adapters to connnect to the -8 female swivels.

You will also need a relay, switch. wire and a few bolts

Nice if you know your lengths it's cheaper to get the hoses made. Hydraulic places will often do it. Just a tip

Al,

Thanks! You solved the problem. Kind of has me scratching my head at the overly dramatic people planning on selling there tech packs now... and then what, pay the additional $2,000 higher MSRP + dealer markups on a 2017? That makes no sense.

Keep us updated on the diff cooler, unless I get there first. I have a lift in my garage and may tackle it soon, I am considering removing the diff cover and having it tapped/drilled for cooler fittings, may first consider just adding the temp sensor and watch my temps (I have already activated the dash gauge with Forscan, of course now reads ---) . If anyone else is in the North Florida area you are welcome to use my lift, and I have a couple of tools if you need them.

Anyone know what electrical wiring part number we need to hook up the diff temp sensor? I imagine there is a plug hanging somewhere under the car waiting on its mate, should be a simple plug in. I believe the sensor is Ford Part #6G004

I don't plan on putting my car on a track anytime soon, as abusing my new baby seems like domestic violence to me, but maybe after the honeymoon phase wears off it will be acceptable.
