Al,

Anyone know what electrical wiring part number we need to hook up the diff temp sensor? I imagine there is a plug hanging somewhere under the car waiting on its mate, should be a simple plug in. I believe the sensor is Ford Part #6G004

I spent a lot of time under my Tech Pack looking for the differential sensor connection, have not found anything. I have to assume the Tech cars have a different wire loom than the TP and R's. Without a wiring diagram, I'm not sure where to go with this. Unless someone with a TP can trace their sensor wiring and confirm a connection, I am going with the separate gauge that I have installed.

Assuming the wiring harness is the same on all cars is a bad assumption. If they can save on wiring for options that aren't factory installed, they will.

As I have said before I never have taken my car to the track and never plan to. But I have gone into limp mode on a few road trips to Vegas(going over the speed limit in the middle of the desert in summer almost expected) But also in stop in go traffic. Talked to Ford performance and they said to try this until the kits come out..

Personally it not that big of an issue for me now that we have had cooler weather. The trans has been running in the 200-210 range compared to 245+ in the summer.

But I have gone into limp mode on a few road trips to Vegas(going over the speed limit in the middle of the desert in summer almost expected) But also in stop in go traffic. There was an earlier thread where someone used the scoop, but it didn't help him for track use. He also had to do some cutting I believe.

On the SVT forum a guy had high hopes for that scoop. He installed it and didn't help with the cooling issue. Go to search and read his experience with the scoop. Yes the boss LG had that from the factory.

Been done, does not work, Removing cats, does not work, Changing trans oil does not work. The heat is generated inside the transmission.

Coolers seem to bet he only solution or not driving it in an aggressive manner for too long.

A lot is said about the inability to HPDE etc, but what really burns me is that there are so many reports of folks hitting limp mode and observing 240 plus degrees regularly with spirited street driving. The dialog and discourse is frequently driven back to track capabilities, but I think far too many complaints ultimately get mis categorized and the most appropriate point is missed or overlooked in the noise and back and forth.

It just shocks me that between Ford Performance, Big Blue, and Ford Service they are all acceptable with the thermal performance of those two trim units.

Add a passenger and a suitcase and I can hit limp mode in the 40 minute drive to the airport in the upper 80s and never exceed 80mph.

I'm out for now, Blood pressure is too high today.

Not much has changed.

Some have installed their own coolers and ford hasn't released any packages.

There is mention of one supplier selling the trans with internal pump for $2700 but you still have to figure out the rest.

Dealer visit twice.
1st visit check fluid level, check codes
2nd visit no problem found. a normal characteristic of vehicle.
They printed a few paragraphs of the owners manual stating the following..

Do not operate your vehicle at high
speeds with more than two passengers
or while carrying cargo.
• For sustained high speeds or track day
use with a Base or Tech model, we
recommend that transmission and
differential coolers are added

I understand getting the track model for track use but I don't remember the model that lets me drive to vegas with the wife and a couple bags!
