Do you need to drop the transmission to perform the installation on the GT350R

To be clear, the R model uses the same transmission (difference being the pump for the external cooler) as the '15/'16 Track Pack cars (or all '17 transmissions). You need to remove the transmission crossmember and lower the rear of the transmission a few inches in order to allow access to the bolt on top of the transmission.

People get confused sometimes by the word "drop" and sometimes associate it with "remove." You in no way need to remove the transmission in order to access the old or install the new shifter.

Hey guys,

We are still working on the install video and will be changing some things after finding out some cheats and better orders of steps...

But here is the first draft to get started.

Note: here are some hints to make it easier!!!

1. the 2 rear pins. there is VERY little room when the box is bolted to the side red support arms. So when you lower the main box into the tunnel, flip it up so the REAR hols angle DOWN to the ground so you can put the 2 rear support pins in the holes with the provided 1/4" hex drive socket PRIOR to bolting the main body to the top arm.

2. Make sure as stated in the video that you put the TOP 2 bolts on the red side arms that connect to the main body on first. Otherwise you will not be able to togithen them as the lower 2 bolts ON EACH SIDE will interfere.

YES!!!! doh!!! some first shipping growing pains ...We actually have a heat pad we have since added just for a little more protection also...we will be shipping those out today to everyone that shipped friday!!! these can be put on AFTER install so you dont have to wait.

This shifter looks amazing, might have to order one up next spring! Call me weird, but I actually liked the pull up-move left reverse system. Does this shifter lower the shift knob height? Also probably weird that I don't like very low height shifters

The knob height is a little lower but not much maybe 3/8" .

The push down reverse is so muc more solid feeling and purposeful i really think you will like it better than the flimsy pull up

Those forward linkage bolts on top of the trans are not fun. Tight quarters throughout the install but not too bad. Looking forward to driving it tomorrow.
