As a GT350 owner, if you can get an R and afford an R, get an R. :D I could not get an R, so I got a GT350. I love it, but like I said, if I'd have been able to get an R I would have for sure.
No one will believe me but I am just putting this out there. If you buy a kit online you'll spend say, $150-$200 on a bumper kit in a good quality film (xpel, suntek, 3m pro), and I can promise you with 100% certainty you will waste that film. Applying PPF POORLY is not easy, applying it...
It doesn't make a huge difference, I generally advise against using soaps with waxes as those can streak on a coated car. I personally use Carpro Reset.
We just worked on one and I was lucky enough to be allowed to take it out. It's a quick car for sure. Not for me, same reason a GTR isn't for me, I like my cars to be interesting, even if they aren't the fastest. I absolutely get the appeal.
I really liked how they dealt with Littlefinger. Totally fitting as you said, imo. I did not like the dragon blowing up the wall thing at all; seemed cheese to me, but w/e, it's all entertaining. :D
Film is generally coated because the coatings tend to be more chemical resistant that the films themselves. They also make the PPF easier to clean (think bug guts).
Put paint protection film on them. Headlight yellowing is generally as a result of road debris compromising the UV coating on the light. If they are filmed that coating will not deteriorate.
Dilute your reload. Since late 2016 Reload has been crazy concentrated. We dilute 1:1 with distilled water; it had zero effect on longevity and reduces streaking and hazing *a lot*.
You guys are forgetting the biggest benefit of a coating; chemical resistance. Waxes and sealants offer little to no chemical resistance. I am not pushing coatings by any means, but everyone pushes them based on hydrophobic properties and longevity... those are completely secondary to their...
This varies wildly based on location, and even more wildly based on *how* your installer is approaching your wrap. If they are using all kits, then the price will be lower if they are doing custom coverage, etc. Using all kits is easier, of course, but it generally means you'll have less wrapped...
You already know the market and you already know 20k adm is money you'll never get back, it's a straight up bad financial decision. Now that doesn't mean it's the wrong decision, that depends on you. FWIW, I have a regular GT350 but have had the pleasure of working on quite a few R's; in...
For the hood and fenders we find it generally much, much easier to just do a bulk custom install. Hand cut reliefs are usually much tighter than the computer cut ones, and can almost be invisible when the hood is closed.
I cant believe I am getting involved in this thread but here goes. I've driven a new ZL1, hard - it is a very very capable car. I consider myself an "OK" driver, not great, not terrible... at speed the ZL1 felt great, I didn't have to worry about where the corners were, steering feel was great...
Im looking forward to seeing that picture. Are you sure they weren't in progress and hadnt trimmed away some excess film yet? "Layering" film is something that is extremely rare. The other alternative is they used a kit and you're seeing a relief cut. A relief is a section of the film that is...
