Are the MGW shifters in stock or do they have to be ordered?
Anybody Know??
Sweet! I'm stuck at work and didn't think to refresh - thanks for checking! I knew it wasn't an MGW fault ;)UPS says it's out for delivery today!!
George
When I found out that MGW was up to their normal schenanigans with the new GT350, I couldn't wait for it to be released. Mine arrived on Friday and the shifter change from stock to MGW happened today. Being in the first group, I was missing the heat pad but when I called MGW they had already shipped it out. It arrived via expedited shipping - something that was a pleasant surprise to see.
I had my dealership, which is VERY mod friendly, do the install. Surprisingly, it was very quick and somewhat easy to get the old shifter out and this new one installed. As some have commented, it is almost a shame to cover it all up with plastic and leather so no one can see it. It is artwork - and the attention to detail is second to none.
I put about 60 miles on it this afternoon/evening. Never a mis-shift nor problems finding the correct gear. Getting into reverse is simple and easy.
Now I must say that I was a prior customer - I had a MGW shifter on my '14 GT, and this one is just as good if not better.
For those of you wondering, the shifter does sit a little lower - but not by much. It does appear lower though since the reverse collar is removed.
All in all, I am very pleased with the results. Thank you George. I don't post on this site but I felt it necessary because once again you raised the bar for the performance of this machine.
IMO you nailed it, seems just right to me, I've had a couple of S2000s and to me this shifter exceeds the feel of those, which is a high standard.Thank you for the reviews guys!!!
So in regards to throw reduction , i only went about 10 percent because i felt the trans was a bit notchy already.
What are your thoughts that have it installed? just right? not enough reduction?
I would welcome feedback.
George
I think it is perfect. It is not as much as stock but doesn't need to be reduced further. I am still on the fence if I want the shifter to sit a bit lower, but I think that might counteract the smoothness of rowing through the gears as it currently is right now.Thank you for the reviews guys!!!
