The spray flame retardant material inside and out that way the soot just wipes right off.

Joint the club.
I had all of that. But that's exactly how my luck always is.
2 broken front bumper tabs on the core support.
Door ding
Hood ding
1/4 panel ding
Both ground effects were dented (gouged)
Rear bumper cover had paint metallic sag
Center console had a gouge
Big paint chip on the hoods edge that the factory touched up with a fking brush.
Crooked ott stripes
Scuff mark on right door interior panel
Nail in left front tire
Perfect new car for $65k
Ok so it managed to go through basically 3 years of ownership before it was even driven - that blows.

It means that the labeled car will get extra attention to make sure it doesn't have the fked up flaws we all have. I think its bs myself because every car that leaves the plant should have nice even panel gaps, no broken bumper tabs, no rocker panel dents, no gouging in the interior panels etc. it's not much to ask for. If they can do it on other lesser cars at ford they sure can on the Mustangs. No reason for a brand new car to have the look of the rear bumper cover falling off. Literally
When you say rear bumper cover falling off, do you mean big panel gap by the taillights? Mine is doing that and in fact most GT350s I've seen do it over time. There isn't enough support for the extra weight of the GT350 rear valance to keep it tight and it looks terrible. You can see the plastic supports right through the gap. Ford needs to develop a better support for the bumper. My 15 GT had a tight panel alignment in the same area.

Yes.
It's not literally falling off but you could see the tabs through the gaps.
On my car I refused to take it back to the dealer. But I did call and bitch at ford when I received my car and also wrote a long email. The only response I received back was take it back to the dealer and have it fixed. But since my family owns a body shop I did all the repairs myself and out of my own pocket.
I replaced my front bumper cover because the two tabs that hold it to the core support were not aligned to the pins that align it to the core support. Basically the carbon pins were under the tabs and the asshole on the assembly line just screwed it down and it broke two tabs off. So I replaced the bumper cover.

The rear bumper cover had the famous gaps everyone has but also had a ton of dust in the paint and also heavy sand scratches under the clear coat and also metallic sag. I replaced this bumper cover also.

Both rocker panel ground effects had big gouges in them directly below the mirrors. I replaced both of those.

The passager side door had a small door ding in it directly below the mirror but it was under the paint.

The hood had a tiny outward dent near the hood vent about the size of a pencil eraser. This dent was covered by the inner reinforcement so it was definitely there before the hood was assembled.

The hood had a pencil eraser sized paint chip on the front left corner near the headlight that the factory touched up with a brush that looked like shit.

The left rear 1/4 panel at the wheel well opening had a pencil eraser sized outward dent at the 12 o'clock position.

The center console lid had a 3" long scratch in the leather/vinyl.

The passenger interior door panel had a small scuff mark in the vinyl right on the edge.

Left front tire had a finish nail in the tire.

The hood ott stripes were marred.

The rear bumper cover ott stripes were not even straight. The license plate area was center, but the ones above that were 1/2" to the left. It was very obvious.

I fixed and paid for all the replacement parts out of pocket. In all I probably have over $5500 bucks in parts alone. This was my choice. Some might say I'm over reacting and it's not a $200000.00 car which is true, but why is it that my 2013 transit connect work van, 2013 fusion, 2011 f150 fx2, 2016 f150 sport all cost at least 1/2 the price of my gt350 and all had way better workmanship. I'm not sure I'll ever buy another mustang again. Often times I thought about just selling my car. But now after I fixed everything ford didn't care about I'm pleased with it. For $64000 you'd think they would give each car the "show car care". What a joke!

Could someone post a picture of this gap? I looked around and can't seem to find a car with it. I am certainly not looking to purchase a car that looks like it's falling apart after less than a year of ownership. :(

The Lightning Blue OTT stripes on the one they had in the showroom when I ordered mine looked like someone wiped them down with a Brillo pad! I'm going to tell them not to detail mine when it comes in and hopefully prevent that from happening. Unless they're arriving from Ford like that, then they will be replacing them... I don't know if it was the lighting in the showroom that made it stand out or what but the guy did take delivery of it as well as 2 others.

Well guess what.
I told my dealer not to touch it when it came in last November and they didn't do a thing to it. The scratches are from the factory applying them and not leaving the protective paper on while they squeegeed them on.
Good luck.

100% agree. Just drove 400.miles yesterday to have my first service.. which included a trip to the body shop to align the door.. it took the body tech less than 10 minutes to fix the issue.. well that issue. Some, like most owners I'll have to live with.. like the hunk of shit bumper. I'm aware this is a mass produced vehicle.. built by a plant that's probably about tapped out and people who are in the same boat.. but on specialized vehicles where most owners are going to be more critical of their vehicles, it may be a good idea for an additional qc person vs. Singling out the "oops we fucked up" cars.

I'll have them throw the show car tag on it, but have a feeling it wont matter much.

I'll probably have to use a bit of packing tape to close the seams of the car. Its what i did with my last ford, worked fairly well ;)

Maybe if they'd start a GT350 Issues section we could all post in there instead of stuff scattered across threads!

This is on topic. Why does it take a sign on the car rolling down the line to get better fitment. Had I known that when my car was made I would of paid extra. It would of saved me $4000 in replacement parts and paint materials.

But in all seriousness, they should all get the same attention. Will the $400k ford GT have the assembly quality of a $65k ford? Boy imagine that.
