Where is everyone seeing these $10,000 difference? Seems like a lot of made up stuff.
Just using numbers that everyone is throwing around. In my case, he paid about 5k more than I did.

Are we really going to pretend the Camaro doesn't cost more now? What's next? It's selling better?

It's selling so bad I don't even see them in SoCal lol.

Heck, we are known for MSRP and crazy ADM and I just saw one discounted for SIX GRAND :lol:

LOL!! Exactly.

Hell, pretty soon, you can get the 6G Camaro SS for 15k since they will keep discounting it:lol::lol::lol::D:D:D

:ford::ford::ford::ford::ford:

Oh yeah, don't forget 02GTNH no longer has his yellow 'maro and now has a Vette. But he is still fighting the good fight for the Camaro lovers.

It cost more, but not 10k more.:headbonk:
Agreed but it's pretty simple to figure out exactly how much more. A Base 1SS is 37,900 per Chevrolets build and price web sight. The Base Mustang is 32,645 per Fords sight. That's a 5,255 dollar difference. Now was that so hard? How much performance can be bought for the difference? I tried to point this out to the other Chevy guy. But that's a stage 3 power pack and track pack suspension difference worth of loot. (Blessed warranty still in tact. For the faster stock crowd!) Do you think the Camaro is going to beat that car?

Base GT is $33,545, you forgot destination, so it's $4355. But you are only comparing straight line performance with base by saying with the savings you can make it much faster. Will not argue with that.:thumbsup: That is where I feel GM dropped the ball by not offering a no frills 1ss with all season tires, Generac brakes, and no drive modes. This would of put prices even. But if your more into then just a straight line and want handling and braking, you need to add PP to the GT to come close to the 1ss. Then there is only a $1400 difference and still doesn't have drive modes. But there is no question, a base GT is a cheap fast car.:cheers:

I've seen exactly two on the streets. Both were v6 models. Crazy. I see s550 cars all over. Every model including GT350.

i think the biggest difference price wise is, until now, with them selling horribly, they haven't been budging on prices. I couldn't find an SS cheaper than the 45k ballpark when i looked last year (admittedly they hadn't been out long, was looking in October), but ford was willing to play ball with the mustang. Walked out with a gt pp premium STILL 3k cheaper than chevy lists a 1ss no option car on their website. I think more than a few people might have walked due to them not willing to budge on MSRP on a freaking camaro. Plus it was a pain in the @ss to fit a flight case for a guitar in the trunk. That's annoying. My dang brz was easier to put stuff in/out of the trunk.

I had the same issue when I was in the market. No zero or 1.9 apr available either making the price difference way out of my budget.

I'm not going to quibble over the numbers. But either way, using your $4355 or my $5255. It's a pocket full of money either way! I'm pretty sure GM charges destination also. But look up the track pack suspension. It's a better suspension than the performance Pack. No need to buy a PP car then upgrade the suspension. That's saving alone should get you a nice set of tires.

The Camaro price you listed was with destination. So it's a little off. Not a lot. Option for option the Camaro is about 1,500-2,000 more. Top of that, it's similar looks to the fifth gen, and the fact that Ford does more incentives is what has the Mustang up, and the Camaro down. Not to mention that the S550 is leaps and bounds better looking than the S197.
