Street? Isnt it a track race car? So your saying 0-60? Im sure there are moded ecoboost 4s that will do that.
0-60-----0-100-----1/8 mile. That is why I purchased the lighter weight base model GT350 with no coolers & magnetic ride shocks......

An R still spanks a base model. I also have the base but the R benefits from a lower overall drive ratio.

Beats the non-r by 2-3 mph in the 1/4 and .2-.3s in 0-60 sprints

So what are the mods on your car?

Put it this way, a stock "R" would be looking at my tailights from 0-60 & also in the 1/8 mile. The biggest overall advantage most "R" have over the base is weight, with no backseat 40lbs & carbon fiber wheels 50lbs.

I'm not sure what you mean the "R" benifits from a lower overall drive ratio?

It's rear tires have a smaller overall diameter, effectively increasing the final drive ratio or shortening the gears slightly for better acceleration.

What mods do you have done? Unless you are supercharged, the bolt ons that people are doing will beat an R sure, obviously, same motor same power, but it won't blow the doors off it to 60. Unless you're running slicks...

From a tire size comparison website

Difference from a 305 vs 315 rear tire is:

27.4" base vs 27.7" "R"

Looks like the base GT350 benifits from a better final drive ratio than "R".

A 2017 ZL1 vs. 2016 GT350R?!
Well, the 2017 ZL1 hasn't come out yet, but I'm willing to bet it blows the doors off the GT350R in a straight line.
If we're talking road course or auto-x, that may be a different story. Time will tell. ;)

The R has a 30 aspect ratio side wall, so its actually the smaller tire and thus the R has a slight advantage.

Congrats I guess, that a race car based off of a $500,000 super car managed to beat a car based off of a $70,000 sports car  :headbonk:
Thar car that is based off the $70,000 shares only the skin and receives major rule concessions to compete. Massive weight break! A very non stock motor, heads, intake, compression, fuel system, brakes, wheels.....the list goes on and on. The GT is in fact detuned to run against the non production C7R Vette. Increased weight, Restricted intake Non Variable valve timing, reduction in fuel load, smaller wheels and smaller turbos. Get your freaking facts straight before you post about that abomination known as the C7R Vette!

The R's magnetic shocks in drag mode helps it quite a bit over our base suspension. The loosening during engagement to allow squat let alone the suspension does more magic during shifts. The R is a better straight line car than ours.

So what mods do you have?

And yes the R has 30 series rubber. It does make a difference believe it or not.

Our cars do have an advantage after 150 or so as we make way way less downforce.

I'll agree that from the mid 70s to mid 90s not much was out there. But nobody can argue the fact that the fox body mustang ruled the 1/4 mile. I myself had 4
I liked this bit of the conversation. I never owned a 4.6 powered Ford and I won't. I hated those body styles as well. I actually liked the Fox Mustangs a lot because they were cheap and light and easy to modify. I don't think they are bad looking, either. I've owned many of them and I was daily driving one until a few years ago when the Coyote first came out in 2011. Then I started having some interest in buying a new Ford.

I may be more partial to Fords, but if at some point all the new Fords are ugly and have turds for engines I absolutely won't buy one.

My mistake, on the 30 series tires.
Just like playing poker, I can't tell you my mods (to many Chevy trolls on this website). but my 0-60 time is under 4 seconds.

Yeah you bet. Online forums are serious business, I'd keep my cards super close to my chest too.
