Don't listen to the others. It is your car. Do what you like. It will be fine. Put first coat on medium and let dry. Next couple coats put on wet. It gives a nice satin gloss finish. You will like it.

Thanks for the input. Yeah..... I don't worry about others opinions on what is right or wrong by their standards.. Like u said It's my car. I really appreciate the input from those that have experience with what I'm thinking of doing --just wanted to find out if the plasti dip holds up on the tips. Got my answer thnx!

And unless its a show car anyone saying not to (or hating on) dip something so inconspicuous and hidden like the exhaust tips is retarded without a clue.

Dip is not what dip was 3-5 years ago by any means and is not only used on Honda ricers anymore or to cover up peeled paint on crap cars.

There are 6 figure cars with full or partial (wheels or emblems) dip jobs. There is pro level dip now you can even wax and polish that you cannot tell the difference from factory clear in look.

These are dipped, you wouldn't know it without the photo label from the shine and clarity of the clear

My gt-500 muffler tips are black plasti dipped. I bought them like this.

At first I was worried. But its been a while now and no issues.
When I bought them I seen it wasn't actual paint instead of removing the old plasti dip I just added a few new layers.
