Thought the same thing but a week later I would not have anything lessInstalled a roush axel back on my 2016 GT auto. Sounds great but to be honest it's louder than I expected

LOL I was in this exact same boat..I bought my car and had the Roush Axlebacks installed first thing, and I ended up thinking they were way too loud (to the point where I'd be nervous going beyond 2k rpms in fear of unwanted police attention).Installed a roush axel back on my 2016 GT auto. Yeah my set up is the X pipe and roush AB's.LOL I was in this exact same boat..I bought my car and had the Roush Axlebacks installed first thing, and I ended up thinking they were way too loud (to the point where I'd be nervous going beyond 2k rpms in fear of unwanted police attention).
After about a month of ownership, I was satisfied with them.
After about a year of ownership, I wanted them a tad bit louder. I ended up putting an H-pipe on it - oh boy did it wake these axlebacks up!!
I've had these axlebacks on for a year now with an H-pipe, and -while cold starts can be loud- they are very controllable in terms of volume. At its quietest, it sounds no louder than the axlebacks, but at its loudest, it's a different story! I tend to drive mine somewhere in between, closer to the quieter side, actually.
That being said, if (when) you become satisfied with the sound and would prefer it louder, don't hesitate to consider an h- or x-pipe on these. They will be considerably louder; you'll be much more aware on how much you're stepping on the throttle, but in my opinion, not a single regret for these.
but(t) guts, ewwwwwwww..I hope you mean bug gutsFinally got around to washing the mistress today..... I need paint correction badly. There is so much crap in my paint I am beyond frustrated.... There also has got to be a easier way to get but guts off this damn car
BTW that nasty wheel gap will be dealt with in 2 weeks......
I'm at the same point you are. I'm having a hard time justifying that kind of money for something I really don't need, but would love to have, just to have it. It already has plenty enough horsepower, but more would be, WOOOOOO!!!!Washed it, drove it, removed one of the trunk struts, and if I could bring myself to part with almost $8000 I'd be buying it a stage 2 Whipple... Having an inner delima between the responsible me and the horsepower junkie inside me.
Why did you remove one trunk strut? Easier closing?Washed it, drove it, removed one of the trunk struts, and if I could bring myself to part with almost $8000 I'd be buying it a stage 2 Whipple... Having an inner delima between the responsible me and the horsepower junkie inside me.
