R wing costs 12-15k???

With the CF wheels and wing (price yet TBD) costing nearly half the car's value - I'd say FORD did one hell of a job throwing these pieces in for 5K over a track pack car (soon to be a base model 17')

A couple years ago Mustang wasn't even in the same breath as Porsche - now it is rampant on the internet, magazines, press . . . Revered by reviewers and seems to be still the best track car for the value.

With the Boss 302 and Boss 302 LS Ford set out to be beat the M3 - and they did. We can all see the trend here - building more and more capable performance cars and competing with the worlds best, but offering superior value and reliability.

Long gone are the days of straight line acceleration - Ford has committed to provide a constant evolution and showcase their racing pedigree for an ever growing audience.

The 16' R even beat the top marques to win performance car of the year via R&T as we all know. There's some seriously expensive and high performing cars on that list.

The 350R holds amazing company on the Nurburgring, just check the lap times.

@ MCarsFan - a good license plate for your R model could be I EAT M3 - I've seen one of these in my state - ironically the owner had an M3 as well - guess he really knows.

Ah, got to love the sense of humor amongst us car nuts.

Don't you think the 350R is a still a little heavy? I'd say the Cayman GT4 is probably the best value but its a close call.

What does the GT3RS wing have to do with the R? Is it the same part number? Additionally, have you done any follow on research to back up the claim of $12-15K for the wing? I have. Do you believe everything you see/read on the internet?

Stop with the whining. Nobody gives a shit about fairness. You continually post reasons you don't want an R. Continually try to show what else people could be spending their money on. On multiple occasions you have referenced Buffet. Are you him? If not, here is a secret, you will never be as successful as he. Leno is on record stating that he paid a premium for his R. He isn't as wealthy as Buffet, but not doing to bad. Does that make him stupid?

Well to even be in the same realm as a Porsche GT car (meaning GT3, GT4, etc.) is quite an accomplishment, especially for a car under $70K fully loaded. When you get a base GT4 you're at $85K. Adding options (which Porsche has A LOT OF OPTIONS) you easily get in six figures ++ territory. A friend of mine had a GT4 up for sale with nearly $30K worth of options.

I think in their respective markets both cars will give their drivers gobs of performance, fun and precision to name a few attributes. I imagine the GT4 as a scalpel while the GT350 a chisel. They definitely are both competing against each other successfully at the Continental Tire Series / IMSA.

I'd imagine if any GT350 owner or GT4 owner would trade keys for a day they would be very impressed with both cars.

Yes, you're correct the R weighs some 700lbs more. . But American cars have never been much on low weight. Ironic, the R is stripped down and still weighs quite a bit!

This doesn't usually work out considering most places get 1-2 Rs if any. So even if he did tell you where, chances are their Rs are long spoken for.

Yup, that's exactly what I paid too. People think that if they call 3 or 4 dealers they've done their work on trying to find an R for a good price. No, try getting on the phone and calling several hundred. For people that put in the real work, the deals are out there. Most people are just lazy and want to be spoon fed.

I will. I am not the kind of guy they are making me out to be. The only way to prove this is with concrete action. I will get an R, if I have to call up every ford dealer, so be it.

Funny...my 11 year old made it clear to me the first time he saw the GT4 at the house that it "looked like a girly car!" I just laughed and agreed with him. LOL

I still prefer the GT350 over the GT4. Many of my Porsche friends think I am crazy (typical elitists), but the GT350 is so much more fun to drive. My GT4 stickered at 107K and was not worth the 40K difference and is the reason why the GT350 is still in my garage.

Not trying to be one of those guys but are you part of any Porsche Clubs? There is a Porsche Club in my area and sometimes we at SCCA have to share the Miller Park parking lot for autocross with them and it seems like they spend 90% of their times closing and opening their hoods and "bewts", 9% of their time consuming tea and crumpets, and then 1% of their time driving...very. VERY. IDIOTICALLY. Slowly. Then I show up at autocross, 200 miles on the clock and rip on it.
