160° Thermostat install instructions?

The 160 does work my buddy just did his last week and it works perfect...I'm not interested in tossing out a new thermostat and buying a new one and doing the install again I just wanted some help to figure this one out....It will idle at normal temps and the heat is hot but when I drive they rise to 210-212 what will cause that

what will cause that is it's probably a bad thermostat. it's only a $30 dollar loss. a lot of us had the 160 with the exact same result as you and switched to the 170 and problem solved.

if someone has a 170 that runs hot its an install/burping error. i have seen like one post about a 160 that works right (outside of vendor posts, lol).

I would like to try to get this to work before I go spend more money since my mod money is very limited right now cause of buying a house

160 is a completely different than factory design .

Lots of people running the 160 with no problems...I guess the same can be said about the 170 since people says their temps don't change after installing the 170...

There is a thread on here with lots of people switching from the Evenflo to the Reische and getting better temps. The Reische is a proven winner.

+1 For the Reische 170! Normally in the 180's for head temp.

Yes I did they come on when it reads 192 the problem is my temps never go below that so my fans never turn off...I guess I'm parking the car until I can find a 170 local or get one shipped

Have you had a chance to cruise above 60- 75 mph to see if the temps will drop?

Yes I did 75 in 6th for probably 20 miles and it stays around 210 but if I hit 5th they drop to around 190

Yes, stock thermostat can reach 225.

thank you...what would u say is a temp I should start to worry and pull over just incase my temps go up more
