This is extremely helpful! Thanks dude.easy way:
0. leave coolant cap on, do not drain system
1. remove intake tube
2. leave coolant hose on housing
3. have your understanding life partner hold the coolant hose with light pressure towards the housing while you remove the two bolts
4. prepare new thermostat for quick swap
5. politely ask understanding life partner to apply pressure away from housing, separating the housing, exposing the thermostat but keep the hose/housing opening pointed up so it doesn't drain out.
6. swap thermostats in under 1 second
7. put housing back together with bolts
8. rinse off front of engine and belts since you spilled about 1 ounce of coolant
9. put intake back on
10. remove coolant cap and let it idle and heat up (turn on heater full blast) on level ground and pump coolant hoses while it heats up. level off coolant, it won't need much at all....
heater on full blast while you let it idle? it can take 20-30 minutes, I let it idle a long time to make sure it's bled properly. also need to be on flat surface with cap off.Changed my thermostat yesterday and now the Temps are really high staying around 214 I have let it run and pumped the hose and it's still really hot what am I doing wrong please help
Been running about 25 minutes heat on high and Temps never get low enough to turn fans off and when I'm driving getting up to speed they drop but when I'm up to cruise speed they start to climb back up in the 200sheater on full blast while you let it idle? it can take 20-30 minutes, I let it idle a long time to make sure it's bled properly. also need to be on flat surface with cap off.
Temps finally went down fans turned off so I went around the block and as soon as I hit 45 Temps went up to 212 and now back at house idling and Temps are going back down...car has run for about 2 hours today just sitting and it's not working what else am I missingheater on full blast while you let it idle? it can take 20-30 minutes, I let it idle a long time to make sure it's bled properly. also need to be on flat surface with cap off.
First thing I wonder if something is weird with the tune and if they are only running when the car is not moving or something similar or maybe something weird with the fan vs A/C settings or if they weren't changed properly for the thermostat.Yes fans come on and I have Cai and tune that was just updated for the thermostat
Oh well that makes more sense. The 160 doesn't work. For some reason I was thinking you had the 170. Throw that 160 in the trash can and get the reische 170.Evenflo 160
^ This. The Evenflo is trash.Oh well that makes more sense. The 160 doesn't work. For some reason I was thinking you had the 170. Throw that 160 in the trash can and get the reische 170.
Lots of people running the 160 with no problems...I guess the same can be said about the 170 since people says their temps don't change after installing the 170...^ This. The Evenflo is trash.
The 160 does work my buddy just did his last week and it works perfect...I'm not interested in tossing out a new thermostat and buying a new one and doing the install again I just wanted some help to figure this one out....It will idle at normal temps and the heat is hot but when I drive they rise to 210-212 what will cause thatOh well that makes more sense.
