Hey everyone,
So my key doesn't unlock the passenger door with the sensor on the door handle unless my key is right next to the handle. For example, my girlfriend and I go to sit in the car, I open my door (key is on me) with the door handle sensor, and she tries to open it but will not open. I have to press unlock with my fob or from the inside. I tested my key next to the passenger door and the door handle sensor works and unlocks the door. I read on another post that the OP would press the door handle sensor on his side and it would unlock the other door as well. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Thanks.

That's intentional. There is a setting on your cluster though for it to unlock all doors, though.

I changed the setting to "unlock all doors first" but it only works when I press unlock on the fob first. Not by sensing the key. Is there another setting Im missing?

Not sure, I have that setting turned on and never had an issue with all doors unlocking. Perhaps the passenger is touching their handle at the sane time and cancelling it out?

That's pretty strange. Not sure what setting I have on but since I bought the car I have not had this issue. I'll unlock via the door handle and my wife is always able to open her door right after.

I'll check what I have the door locks set to later.

Mine only unlocks the driver side door. This was a setting i had to change on my corolla, which was easily found in the dash settings and changed. I can't find where to change it on the mustang. Anyone know?

It's under settings in the dash.

is it the "unlock all doors first" ? I was going through the settings but none of them sounded like what I was aiming to do. I guess ill do some testing when I get home from work.

You must place your thumb on it first on the lines then try to open door handle, this was like teaching my wife how to walk. She decided at that moment when she could not get in my car that she was going to hate it forever. Took months for her to get used to it.

The lines on the handle are to lock the car. The sensor to unlock is behind the handle. Pressing both is not necessary and may cause the car to not unlock at all.

These sensors only matter if you have the key less than 3 feet from the door and it will only activate the sensors on that side of the car. So if you are standing by the drivers door with the key and no one else has the key, the sensors for the passenger door and trunk will not operate.

Yea it was the unlock all doors first setting. Now when I go to open my door the passenger will unlock too. Thanks to everyone that chimed in.

On a positive note, I like that feature, keeps the wife or unwanted riders out of the car
