Traded my V6 for a GT today. Honestly not the best financial decision........trading in that is. Although is so worth it. This 5.0 is incredible in every way.
Nice. Enjoy.

Being that the EB was my first Mustang, I fell in love from day 1, but it ultimately faded. These cars are really special, it's hard to explain to people why they are...they just are. I have no plans on being a patronizing member of the GT community, but having driven both (although GT only test drive) - they are completely different animals and there is NO doubt in my mind I'm going to fall in love all over. This is a community I hope to never leave.

To whoever said something about settling, I think you're right. All of us here are pretty passionate about our cars, and I agree - no one should settle on their car if they're not happy. I took a hit, but I think I'll be much happier after the dust settles.

Congrats  Maybe I missed it but did you go with a different color ? Post pics when you pick it up . Pics never get old to me with folks getting their car.

Damn im so jealous. I got the v6, i love the car, its actually a blast to drive and i enjoy every bit of it. Its funny because i could really see myself driving the v6 for a long time.....but i just happened to get the base model of a car that you should never get the base model of. I had base models of many cars and i didnt care.
I tried trading in my v6 back in october but they wanted a down payment i couldnt afford, plus id be taking a huge hit on negative equity.
On the positive side, i do enjoy my sixxer as it is the fastest car i ever had, and it actually sounds nice.
On the negative, its not a GT.

I think the issue is the 2.3 would be fine for the Mustang IF Ford did what Chevy did and actually brought the car in lighter and a bit smaller so the engine really worked with it. But the 2.3 just isn't meant for this body/weight/etc...2.7 would be better for the S550.

The S660 will honestly be the Mustang to get if you are talking bringing in the next gen like Chevy did with their new Camaro. Since they've up the release by 2 years of the S660 you know they are probably going big changes, aluminum, more compact, etc. Hell I wouldn't be surprised to see AWD in the next gen.

The S550 is great but Ford didn't go all the way with it like they could have. That will be the S660.

Just out of curiousity. How much of a hit did you take on the trade in?

3k, fully loaded EB to base GT softened the blow...but I don't hate the base interior at all.

That's not bad at all. I'd go for a base gt as well. What was the price listed on the gt?

Wow, congrats, love that color combo! I'd love to hear what parts of the premium you end up missing after a while of driving the base GT. It's something I've considered doing to soften the blow if I traded up but I think I'd miss the heated seats in the cold months and I like the 201A package a lot.
