JUST starting the process before the actual physical install. Trying to get a jump on getting the tune from Whipple before disconnecting the battery as I need to send them the info of what comes up in the software.

I know I need the FC software and I do; version 1.85. I have the OBD reader supplied with the kit and USB cable as well. I have followed the instruction to the letter and nothing I do populates the vin or any other info when I turn the car power 'on'. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and repeated the same. My voltage is good and the OBD reader is working.

Does the SC need to be installed before that info populated? Thoughts?

I do have an email in to Whipple but it's Sunday and I'm not expecting anything till tomorrow. Not getting into the install meat of it till tomorrow but I thought I'd check with you all for now. Removing bumper, wheels and wheel well liners, exposed the fuel pump to get ready and disconnect that for today as well as lay out all the parts.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for confirming its possible and I'll try your steps as well. I have tried variations but I'll try anything. I had to laugh; very first thing I did and very first problem.

If your able to,try a different laptop, could be an issue with the driver not reading the usb

Are you sure it installed the drivers when you downloaded and installed the flare tool. You would know as it is the last part of the instal process a box comes up asking you to confirm the instal of the USB drivers.

Don't have another laptop so I'm gonna have to bring the 27" iMac desktop out to the garage....really.

Yes. Have now done a reinstall 3 times and see that box come up with success.

You are right about it being snug but it is definitely in all the way.

Maybe it's a Windows 10 issue. I use this laptop for my bike and other cars without any issue even on Windows 10. This is frustrating to be on step 1 of 1000 and stopped in my tracks. I'll update after I try the monster iMac. Dog is looking at me sideways cause he knows I'll be in the garage all day so gotta get him out right now.

Still no progress at the moment. Tried my iMac 'laptop' and it had the same result.....nada. Just got off the phone with Whipple for 45min and throwing them for a loop but the consensus most likely is a bad canelope but it's acting right. They are doing some further research and will be getting back to me.

This looks like an episode off street outlaws  sorry I couldn't help myself. I just remember having the same issue and found the tool not going all the way on the port:doh:

Dat faith doe.

"Funny story, honey, the stool rolled just a hair. You wouldn't even have thought the iMac would have tipped over, let alone..."

This situation has been fixed.....Bad USB cable. Thanks for the suggestions earlier.

With the iMac I had to make sure I didn't close the door from the other side or I would have had another problem.

For the FC software did you have to download it to a website or when you plug the flare tool to the lap top does it automatically install the software. Sorry Im trying to get ahead as well. Mine should be here, weekend the latest. Will be sending it to my buddies shop and might not have wifi to update the software and wanna be able to do it right when Im home. Sorry for newbie question.

Thanks
