$5K over sticker and had no issue doing it. The dealer and I agreed to the price when I ordered the car in June and when it was delivered in January, we remained true to what we agreed. The dealer could have EASILY gotten a heck of a lot more selling it to someone else, but they are a stand up group; which is why I have dealt with them for years. Considering the deals they've given me on my more pedestrian cars over the past 20 years, $5K over for this car was not an issue. Congrats on never paying over MSRP for a car. That and a $1.47 will get you a 20oz Coke at the corner store.

So, now the writer of the article was data-logging the car while they were driving it for two hours straight around the track. Right. Must have been Mr. Wyndbag from over on Camaro6 doing the article. Sounds like his level of amateur journalism.:lol:

They never mention the prototype was in full battle rattle. That, is a full tilt roll cage...

But it handles so well and feels solid.

It would have been nice to get that support integrated into the structure. Why drive people around in an armored car?

The last ZL1 tested in a full cage. What is the point? Once the weight goes in, the suspension needs to be tuned to optimize...

But that's none of my business...

I think chevy is trying to fix this issue and then some. I think 11 is overkill. But at the same time, I would rather them go overkill than skimp and it start sucking power after 5 minutes. If Chevy can be trusted (I think they can given their track record with eh 6th gen) then they ran their cars for two hours with zero issues. That is damn impressive given the nature of S/C engines, and the LT4 in particular.

But, as an engineer, all those HEs with their individual connections make for much more potential for failure. Not to mention many more times the chance for something not being bled properly, leading to issues.

As I said, that many coolers in one vehicle point to a compromise (or several) with the chassis. Complexity led to me not wanting to keep my GT500 indefinitely, and that car was far more simple than this new ZL1. Too many unknowns for this engineer long-term, but I'd give one a good flogging given the chance.

Let's see how much ADM did you pay ? I've never in my life paid ADM not even on my 05 Ford GT, Pm me if you want to see the sales receipt. The article said NO timing was pulled and temps were normal. Get over it ....your 350 might not be as fast a ZL1. The article about the performance car of the year said the 350R was getting dangerously high temps during testing. Go back and read that piece.

The LT4 ZL1 was so predictable... they are probably going to get blindsided again.

The Camaro isn't selling and they have already invested more $$$ into the 6th Gen than the 5th Gen. In fact, it took nearly 4 years to release this lineup.

Yet they sold 2-3 times as many... :lol: I'm not going to gamble on Chevy quality for another 10 years. They need to survive and the Alpha, Camaro and in some cases, the LT engines just aren't doing it.
