I would take a CarreraS over a GT350..I just can't believe how expensive they have gotten. I got a 2007 911S new pretty decently loaded for just at $88k with discount. Now they start at $104,000.

Yeah... the Porsche pricing is getting out of control particularly for the Carrera S. Meanwhile you can get a Z06 with the Z07 package for under 90k.

Z06 is a great performer, but with that S/C it just isn't for me. If GM makes a higher powered version of the LT1 (or just uses the LS7) and puts it in a weight reduced version of the Z51 Vette (using the CF torque tube from the Z06, eliminating AFM, exhaust actuators, etc), I'd be very interested in something like that.

I'd also be happy with the LS7 being stuffed back into the new Z28. Throw out the carbon ceramics and add the 6 piston package and call it $62k. Dreaming...

Totally agree. It's just crazy what Porsche is charging these days for 911 variants.

They lease pretty good when Porsche Financial has special offers. I write them off through my company. Its just if you decide to buy at the end of the lease so much of the residual is subsidized that it doesn't make sense to buy out at the end of the lease. My buyout for my 2013 E92 M3 is $40K, for a car that will be worth $47-49K..why would I walk away at the end of the lease.

I want one bad...even the new 991.2S with the TT 3.0LH6. They still sound pretty good and they make power everywhere in the powerband.

Another interesting era for Porsche. Everything turbo on its way. I'm looking forward to seeing the 718 4 banger. Keep it light and cheap to mod, might be a fun car.

Just built that Carrera S with the Porsche recommended options $120,000 sends me off to the used market.

I lease pretty much all my cars for a number of financial reasons. I've never seen good numbers on Porsches. Then again I've never looked terribly deep into them either.

BMWs lease well in general. I was shocked by how good some of the GM leases are. The residual on my 1LE for 24 months 12k miles was 73%. I believe the same for 36 months was 64%. I've never seen great numbers on Fords and my assumption is that the 350 will likely lease like crap which sucks cause I want one.

My brother just did an ultra low mileage lease on a Z06. 5000 miles a year. I didn't even realize they did that on those. I think it's through Ally.

The only options I would choose is the Sport Pasm and the $800 sport seats, maybe bone up for the moonroof. My build came out to $106,000...still uber expensive.

Problem is with the GM leases is that the residual is so high that at lease end it makes no financial sense to buy them out at the end of the lease. With BMW the residual is pretty fair and at the end of the lease with the M cars you have some equity.
