The new 911 Carrera 2/S and 4/S all went to turbocharging and all received quite a bump in HP and TQ. The 350R barely edges it as is, it's safe to say, Porsche fired back easily.

I own a 350R and have driven quite a few 2016 model porsches, I'd say to be honest you need a real hot shoe driver in the 350R to beat those porches in their 2016 configurations.

Now for fun, if I could compare times from the 350R vs my 911 Turbo S, well obvious money is on the Porsche. Of my three cars in my sig, my 350R is also m slowest accelerating car too. The M4 beats it easily in a straight.
Yeah the gearing on these cars are seem to be not meant for straightline acceleration. I can't believe the new camaro ss can out accelerate an m4 but a gt350r can't. Nice cars you own by the way:thumbsup:

I assure you, a Camaro with 640hp and a 63 inch track NEEDS MORE THAN A 285/305

That is aweful... Maybe slightly better traction than the Hellcat on its stock tires. The Hellcat isn't very "sticky" either. Oh good lord...

Help 'em Tom Cruise!!! Put some tire on that car with 'ur witchcraft!!!
Hahaha Did you watch the videos man? If you have you wouldnt be saying these crazy things haha. Please stay off this forum and keep to FB. It suits you better. Trust all of us.

I still doubt they can make up for the grip of the MPSC2 tires that the 350R & GT3 have. The 350R is second(s) clear of an M4 around a given track.

The videos of what? A prototype fancar? A Camaro fans opinion of an under-tired, 640hp, 4000lbs vehicle on 285/305's?

I also seen the opinions of the initial ZL1 test.

11's all day?

Faster than a GT500?

Yeah... I heard the same crap in 2011.

Wanna know how they saved weight here? Um... the 14 inch rotors in back.

Strange that Chevy started a year later, yet has all three performance models either available or announced and we only have two from Ford.

I'm betting the GT500 is some serious business.

The ss competes with the gt. The 1LE competes with the 350.

The ZL1 competes with the GT500 which isn't even announced yet.

Usually Chevy waits until Ford does something so they can study how to beat it.

But the ZL1 always seems to be the other way around. Which is fine by me. The biggest baddest Camaro got spanked last time and will get spanked again.

I do have to say though... They did a superb job on the new ZL1. It looks phenomenal. Aggressive, modern, and actually tasteful.

Kudos to the designers on that one.

Performance should be terrific as well. The new ss does great with 455 hp. 640-650 is definitely going to bring some pain. So it's a worthy adversary.

But... Something tells me the GT500 replacement will embarrass this car.
A year later? The S550 was began production nearly 24 months now. The Camaro a few months and ZL1 just unveiled. A bit more than a year to catch up.

And the ZL1 is not new or novel. It's a SS with a supercharger slapped on and some plastic aero and coolers stuck on. Oh and a 10 speed trans option jointly developed with Ford that Ford should have out next model year too (it's obviously optional and only on the lower volume ZL1 for a reason- my guess is to test it. I wouldnt want to buy a $60k car to test a new tranny personally)

It's not a total new engine/tech like between the GT and GT350 they needed 5 years to develop it. The ZL1 would be equivalent to slapping the Ford Racing supercharger on a 5.0 in GT350 underpinnings (frame/suspension/brakes) and calling it a whole new 670/727 hp car depending if they used Stage 1 or 2

If the GT500 is a Stage 2 supercharged 5.0 (hitting 727hp now) or twin turbo 5.0 700+hp, which Ford higher ups already hinted they would have a car that challenges the Hellcat which is 707, on GT350 suspension and brakes the ZL1 doesnt stand a chance.

Just put him on ignore... It's working wonders for me. Although I can still see his ridiculous posts when someone else quotes it. Bleh.

Supposedly at the media preview they ran HARD for 2 hours without stopping and never had a problem.

I think GM took a page out of the Mopar book and built the ZL1 to the neck with coolers so it can run hard without stopping for long periods of time.
Okay. But you're talking durability. The question is, did it maintain the same power level lap-after-lap for those two hours? I seriously doubt it.

It's certainly the implication behind it.

There is a LOT of air moving in the front of that car, waaaay more than any 5th Gen.

I honestly think the much more wide open front end, the standard coolers and the 11(!) heat exchangers on this car will allow it to keep of heat soak for a long time..if it heat soaks at all.

I think you're right. Just like this site and the GT350, there are people hailing the 1LE as something it is not. "The end all be all". Will it be the fastest car in its price point, YES. Will it be the fastest car in its class, NO.
As an ex Camaro owner. I can honestly tell you 1LE owners think they own Z28s. They post in the Z28/Zl1 sections like they belong there.

I don't ever understand you. You LOVE and own a Camaro and yet your always on the mustang forum. Why do you bother when most on here own and love mustangs. Your the one always being the sales guy trying to convince everyone why the Camaro is better on a mustang site when it's not better.

Not true lol. I am car enthusiast on here posting about cars. I have in this very thread commented on how awesome the 350 is. I am posting on here about how you should all sell your cars and buy Camaros. I love mine, and love that we have a choice between three awesome cars made by american manufacturers. Nor do I belittle people by driving "lesser" cars.

Having other opinions is good. Let's leave him be.
Thanks. I do not want to offend anyone, but at the same time I love having a genuine debate with other car dudes. Even if we do not have the same taste of rides.
