So who used a tuner before the end of their warranty? Just passed 1k miles and have a ways to go. Anyone having any issues if you did? Thanks for the feedback!

I did. Go with Lund E85. You won't regret it. Edit - Sorry initially meant flex tune. Can run 93 or E85.

Just dump your stock file back in if you need to go to the dealer.

So who used a tuner before the end of their warranty? ...
There's a really easy answer to this question: everybody who is tuned here

I doubt there's a single person here who has hit over 36k miles in the last year and a half since the s550 came out (ok, maybe there's 1-2 people who have road tripped it and have enough miles on it so far to be out of the drivetrain warranty miles)

So what's your guess are their 14 guys on here with tunes and they all post enough to make us think it's in the thousands? Half kidding. But I do wonder really how many supercharger guys there are.

Well if you're doing that to hide the fact it's been tuned that won't work.
Correct. Back in the good ole days we could tune then go back to stock and dealer would never know. NOW dealers have gotten smarter hell they even tried filing a lawsuit claiming that the software on your car is theirs and NOT yours. They lost. Long story short they are getting very strict these days. So once you tune your warranty is done except for power windows lights and things like that. Engine/drivetrain warranty forget about it. :)

Thanks for the info, I was going back to my LSX days when you could do this and the dealerships wouldn't be any the wiser.

Lets not forget the Magnuson-Moss Act.

The dealer will have to prove a "tune" caused a failure. My dealer has flat out told me, pop a piston, they may look into the flash file , but general failures, no.

Pay to Play!

In all seriousness, I think there are a lot of people who tune their cars without any issues.

My personal advice would be to put a few more miles on your car first. My experience (I used to work with Service Contracts) shows that issues typically pop up either within the first 10k miles or after the warranty is up. I waited until 8500 to tune mine (couldn't wait any longer) and haven't had a single problem. I actually had problems with the car starting before I tuned it but haven't had that problem since!

That act won't save you. And the dealer doesn't have to prove anything. They'll just flat out refuse to fix your car and now the burden will be on you.
