I'm here to ask for suggestions as to what I should do. So let me start from the beginning. I have an Ecoboost mustang with the mod list as the following catless downpipe, intake, exhaust, BOV adapter, Mishimoto catch can, PCV Gut and tune. I was sitting in my parking lot when I noticed the smell of burning oil coming from my exhaust when I looked at my tailpipes I look and, sure enough, my car was the source. I took it home and checked the oil level and it was low so I went to go do an oil change and, sure enough, the smoke was still there but the weird thing about it was that I suffered no power loss nor and abnormal sounds just white smoke coming from my exhuast. I thought that maybe the catch can got too full and I needed to clean it and it was pretty full so I cleaned it and waited to see if maybe the remaining oil would burn off if it was recirculated. So I drove it for a couple weeks and to no avail. I took it to the dealer and sure enough, it was the turbo. So I dropped it off and told the service manager to contact me when the repairs would start. They told me that the turbo is not going to be covered under warranty and now I don't know what to do. Should I fight this or should I just accept it.

Idk tough call because you have a tune and no matter what the problem is they can deny warranty work because of it. I doubt you would get anywhere by fighting it but you can try. If you can wait I'm sure people will have there stock turbo for sale soon when they will be upgrading it.

I call bullshit as to the real problem with the car, I would take it to a mechanic you trust or have recommended and let them diagnose it, do not say ford said it was the turbo and see what happens. Start there.

Oh and how did they know about your mods? I highly doubt they dug far enough into the ecu to see if the car was tuned, unless u showed up with the tune loaded them that's your bad, I had a similar situation and my turbo was covered. Also be really careful on here about spouting out what dealership you are taking the car to or any of your info, I most certainly think that ford people are on here and pose as regular forum users and will message you asking you what dealership you take the car to, do not ever give up that info, unless you know fact it's someone u trust or believe

Some guy was just selling his stock turbo in the marketplace for $400...... Did they give you reasons why the denied your warranty? Be more specific with what happened

That's what i was reading too. Something could be up with these turbos. You had a problem with yours as well. I might even have the same problem.

Luckily mine was figured out to be an exhaust leak on the front of the turbo housing, but all I keep hearing about is smoke! Smoke! And oil on different parts of the car.....

The exact word were the car was tuned and the turbo failed due to over boost. But yet we have people running 10s on stock turbo. I sat with one of the advisors away from his manager and he told me straight up you cannot and i mean cannot hide the tune. Every time you bring the car in they check they don't mention it they just log it for future reference. I really dont see the point of getting the same turbo again as i feel like this issue will happen again and that other cars have had this issue completely stock! I dont know if i should replace the turbo, upgrade the turbo, or get a bigger one as a last resort. When the compressor wheel is upgraded do they replace the seals?

This is a completely different issue as my car doesn't smoke at idle and it only produces smoke when i accelerate or when i let off the gas.

I'm still trying to figure out what the smoke has to do with the turbo? I have not heard of this yet.... You even said you have no power loss or no performance issues, so why do you need to fix? I would still get a second opinion if it was me. And the dealership doesn't have the final say, ford does
