Same cylinder head temps after 170 thermostat install???

So I installed a 170 degree thermostat. My cylinder head temps are still averaging between 200-210 while driving, which is exactly what they were before. It doesnt really seem to matter what the outside temp is. Its currently been very mild and around 70 degrees outside.

My intake air temp is also high averaging about 20-25 degrees above ambient. I have the Steeda CAI, and I have a Lund tune which states that the tune automatically adjusts for the thermostat, and i dont need a revision.

Any ideas? I currently have a ticket open with Lund to see if they have any suggestions. Thanks.

The T-stat replacement made no difference in CHT's in my car when I did it. The only thing that finally dropped my CHT's down to the levels that the guys with the Performance Pack said they had was actually swapping in the Performance radiator. Now my CHT's are around 189-190 they were 210+ before. $400 mod that makes sense to do here in AZ, not sure about other parts of the country, probably not needed.

I havent noticed what time they kick on. I got a response from Lund saying that they shouldnt be that high, and that maybe there is an air bubble in the system???

I would check for an air bubble. I bleed the balls of my stuff and the 160 EvenFlow ran at 215-220 and I swapped in a 170 and it runs at 185.

170* t stat. Mine only gets higher than 195* if I'm climbing a steep hill at low speed in the middle of a 95+* day. I found squeezing/releasing rapidly the passenger side hose between the engine and radiator helped 'burp' the system. This is at temperature so you may need a glove.

Yep....210 with Performance radiator and a 170 Tstat is unusually high no doubt.

Is it an even flow? Lots guys have same issue. Reische is the way to go like Higgs said. My temps are way lower ..with Lund tune and reische 170 my ect never climbs about 189 and CHT no hotter than 196..in Az PP car.

I just loaded my base lund tune before I get the FF tune written, and I'm irritated with how often the fans come on. I feel like they are running constantly when the car is up to temp, and the fan wash is causing the IAT's to skyrocket. Not sure why the tune is written that way when I never had issues with other tunes and the motor running hot.

My car runs at 190 driving around and 199 if I am ripping on it with the blower.

Low temp stat will fix the fans running..

So are you saying with the Even Flow you ran hotter due to air bubble or because thermostat is bad?
