The cylinder head temps are what the gauge says they are, the coolant temps are cooler than the cylinder head temps but you dont have gauge to look at to compare. SO when you look at the head temp gauge in your car you have to take off at least 10 degrees to determine what the coolant temps really are.
This is my personal opinion. I feel it is better to have to car run only a little cooler than stock. I feel 170 is far to cool. The cylinder head temps seem to like being around 190-200 for best performance and economy is my experience. SO, if I was going to recommend a stat to buy, I would recommend a 180-190 stat. I dont think the car would like it to much to be running that cool all of the time.
