Anyone running a light weight battery?

Looking for feedback and installation tips.

I know this present some challenges in a daily driver. My car is not a daily driver (weekend toy)

Thanks

I have a lithium iron Harley battery in my Corvette. It works, but you need a special charger and to be frank, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Interesting.

Wonder how a smaller battery holds up. Wonder if there are any as good as oem but still gives the same wattage and can work in the cold and save weight.

I always go with a bigger, higher cold cranking battery. I had my alternator go twice and the battery got me home from work over an hour away. For me the weight savings are not worth it.

Running a lightweight battery definitely has disadvantages. I wouldn't do it on a daily driver.

Mine won't be. And when not in use I'll keep it on a trickle charger.

You save 20 lbs on a 3700lbs car is hardly noticeable.
Premium GT's are more than 3700 lbs. Cutting weight in different areas adds up quickly.

I retired from the company that supplies Ford with that battery. If your car is a daily driver, I think moving to a smaller battery is a huge mistake. Like I said previously, I have a Lithium Iron battery designed for a Harley in my Corvette, but it is not a daily driver.

Just one persons comment that had engineers working for him that designed that battery.

20lbs for expensive light weight batteries is hardly cost effective. Get some lighter wheels you will be saving at least 80lbs.

Your screwed if you leave anything on. 20 Ah isn't much.
