Well, now it should be a shared area of concern. I am still not comfortable giving the Corvette sh!t...

Thanks for posting, I had a feeling all it would take is a few runs in a CTS-V and they would find a dud.

If the LT4 is flawed in design, this leaves GM open for all kinds of high end abuse.

If some of you NEVER, EVER haves believed thePill before, please hear my warning now. Exercise caution when considering an LT4 equipped Camaro.
i do remember telling people the same thing would happen to the Rattlelac.when more people outside of chevy trend/motor trend test those cars they will be blowing up or overheating too.

The LT4 will definitely let them down in a head to head against a fire-breathing GT500. Someone is stirring rumors up that there is an LT6 (Twin Turbo V8) and an LT7 (Get this, an NA, Flat Plane Crank... with overhead valves???). Maybe I can see a Dual Ecotech LT1 called the LT6. What about an Ecoduke version of the LT1 to replace the LT4... Call it the LTT4... Boom, problem solved, make it make horsepower, PM me for address to send the check...

We have seen Chevy actually remove the LT4 Camaro's front bumper cover in order to improve airflow. But I thought there wasn't a problem with airflow  Okay, now that we are passed that... What they need to do is adopt a CTS-V like front fascia. So far, the CTS-V seems to fail the least. Yes, thePill knows they don't get run that much... I suggested that here before this happened from my crystal ball. Yes... stop what your doin', cuz' you ARE about to ruin, the Camaro's image and the style that you ARE use to. Change the damn fascia before it's too late!!! You need cool air and access to air above the bumper for traffic situations. Pleeeeeeeeease!!! It needs to change!!! I don't care if it looks like a Rhino, embrace it and move forward. People might like it!!! You said F' the aero anyway...

Next, we imagine it will come with the CTS-V brakes... cuz ya' know, f@ck specific equipment. 15.6fr/15.4rr I think... probably 32-34mm thick, 6 and 4 pot or 6 al around maybe... We can also see at least 305's all around, maybe more... probably on f@ckin' 20's like Rick James. Trans is going to be CTS-V... Let's see... MacP, IRS, exhaust similar, Driveshafts/Halfshafts similar... all shared... as will the LT4's LIMP MODE which feels like a 400hp LS1 instead of an LT4.

Anyway, back to the removal of the front bumper. This is a strange technique here buddy... Oh yes... It puts the lotion on its skin... Why? It is an obvious deletion guys, it flows like a square turd down a round sewer pipe. I am hoping some sort of cover of some kind is going to be installed. I was kinda under the impression you were to keep the bumper covered... by law... of course that probably doesn't resonate with GM. The law in which most others are held to... A legal standard you could say... No??? Hindi?? Wala?

(Did anyone notice the tags on the bottom of the 2016 Camaro? The part numbers and names are labeled "z28". Check it out, it seems "z28" has some 6th Gen parts reserved).

I don't think they have an NA engine in their imaginations to beat a Voodoo. Silly GM... Shoulda stuck with the OLD LT1 back in the 90's. You would be further along today...

The Caddy's problems that are now showing up is not good news for Camaro. The Chevy camp is already in denial.......

Speaking of Caddy, did you see thePills recent victory?

Caddy went official with the ATS-V's curb weight... (After people bought them)

Coupe: 3803lbs
Sedan: 3812lbs

Where are those little sh!ts now...

It was not done out of the good graces of their hearts... I'm sure someone alerted someone who could possibly get that officially changed... I'm sure...

More on the CTS-V and LT4 failures...

The LT4 motor just doesn’t like heat, and it especially doesn’t like being driven hard. Something that is annoying given each car’s power and handling capabilities. What’s interesting about this phenomenon is that the Cadillac should be immune from overheating due to its larger intercooler and massive front intakes. Yet, there I was, with the same issue.
Oh, watch out for that crazy Phil guy! He's a liar and an anti-social serial killer that lives with his Grandma and has no friends. Only the voices in his head and in the Internet (which his Grandmas Social Security pays for). What an idiot... where's he come up with this stuff... get a life... Geez...

Then, 500lb foot of torque out of a 5.0 liter Coyote is clearly insane. I have NO idea how they intend on such an engine passing emissions and economy standards far more strict than ours.

...and since you are both from that area and a moderator here, this is pretty much all your fault ;)

I'm serious though, please keep an ear to the ground for any info on that powerplant please... please...

Emissions will be easy. A couple of VW engineers were spotted at Cosworth recently :D

Sources stay firm on a horsepower rumor from mid-2014.

I will dig up the old report if I can find it. The report also said the Coyote would get a power increase to 500hp within a year.

So, I understand the GT500 will have more than the Hellcat... but... not with an Ecoboost 5.0, Supercharged 5.0 nor a TT 3.5... all of those are 650hp engines (SC Coyote is around 625hp). So, unless they have a 710-725hp Ecoboost 5.0... I see nothing but a Twin Turbo (Super Cobra Jet) 5.0 getting any higher than that. To be honest, 650+ seems unlikely out of any of those three options.

...
” A Ford spokesman wouldn’t comment on its competitors car, but a new Shelby GT500 with, potentially, more power is expected to be revealed some time soon. ” – CNN Money
Question is...

Is that the base GT500?

Both of those articles have been known to be bogus for a while now.

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16508&highlight=500bhp

I can't find the CNN correction, but essentially the author made up the rumor themselves.

There was an April Fool's article that had the TTV8 LT6 rumor with other outrageous claims like 800hp and 3,200lbs with something like an 11-speed manual trans.

http://www.hotrod.com/news/1503-exc...nce-numbers-on-the-2016-chevrolet-camaro-zl2/

....and an LT7 (Get this, an NA, Flat Plane Crank... with overhead valves???).

There are aftermarket kits that do this already. 620+hp with a crazy high-RPM redline in one forum thread(think LS1tech or something).

edit: first one I found, don't think this is the original thread I saw...

Double edit: it was Lingenfelter that made the racy version

Unfortunately, without extensive head/valve/cam, crank and bore changes, a FPC OHV isn't even worth it. Most of those guys sound enthusiastic and an LS FPC does exist (video of a dyno I think) but, it rarely can match the potential of just a basic OHV V8. The reduction in stroke and bore alone account for a great deal of the LS's strength. He basically engineered a 5 liter LS1, which would produce about 400hp anyway in order to pass OEM standards. I'm sure you can tune both an LS1 and a FPC LS1 to the same potential, the FPC just cost way more money.

He could of had a built 550hp LS7 for 1/2 money, a 500hp LS3 for $10,000...

I agree with all that. Just sounded like you thought an FPC OHV engine was unfeasible with your prior post.

To be 100% honest, as cool as many of us think the FPC Voodoo engine is(me included no doubt) I think Ford could have achieved all the performance with a CPC Coyote(N/A Cobra Jet is proof) and potentially reduced development and therefore retail costs. Had that allowed the price of the GT350/R to be reduced by say $5-7k(just a spitball, I have no idea how much the FPC factored in as far as development costs) that would have excited me much more.
