So really about the same, small advantage to the 500. The S550 GT500 needs to hurry up.2013-2014 gt500 mag test were between 11.6-11.8 1/4 mile with traps of 125-125.7 mph
Please PM me for these 350R deals at MSRP :lol:What about the pricing? Current regular gt350 is being sold for 55 grand, and the gt350r for 65 grand without adm! The previous gt500 was sold for 65 grand and there is no way the upcoming car will be that cheap. Camaro on the otherhand is going for 63 grand. Either the gt500 is going to raise the bar to a level well beyond the zl1 and maybe to a corvette zo6 level performance or Ford is going to reconsider its entire performance line pricing. I m going for option number 1!
There is non i cant. The minimum regular gt350 is around 55 grand. Please PM me for these 350R deals at MSRP

I do think the rear end could use some work as well... But for me, anything beats what was the fuster-cluck of a rear end the refreshed 5th gen Camaro had... I know looks are subjective but I couldn't for the life of me understand what the design team was thinking when they had the rear diffuser running through the middle of the license plate on the back... It hurt my soul to stare at a Camaro that I couldn't stand and couldn't justify ever buying.This.
Considering the cost of a decently-equipped GT350, the ZL1 is a bargain. I don't see any new GT500 being remotely competitive with the ZL1 in terms of price.
I still can't stomach the looks of the rear end, but the ZL1 corrects much of what I hate about the front of lesser Camaros (except for that hideous grille texturing).

No the GT500 doesn't need more than 700 HP.
It needs the correct amount of power to out perform the ZL1 and whatever benchmark Ford uses.
It's better to have 670-680 HP and use it to it's maximum than have 725 HP and not be able to use all of it.
No AWD but i wish. Even the ford gt is rwd. If Ford manages to put a focus rs similar awd setup to all mustangs and loose some weight to counter the weight gain due to awd setup, then forget about the camaro, even corvette would have hard time keeping up. That would be a dream come true for everyone!put AWD then and use all it.
Challenger is gonna do AWD, not sure if the hell kitty will receive the AWD treatment tho.
Next M5 will be AWD, with an button to disable it to become RWD only. and that is what the GT500 need.
I say 750hp+ AWD, will be a game changer and it will justify maybe 70-75k MSRP.
I think a big part of their pricing strategy will be the engine - if Ford can go with something that's modular, that's distributes the cost across more than one variant (or even other models) and it's developed as part of a long term cost mitigation plan, they can get a lot closer. You know, vs. the unique-to-one-limited-model-variant engine that is the Voodoo.I don't see any new GT500 being remotely competitive with the ZL1 in terms of price.
