I’ve had a couple of the various wireless CarPlay adapters.

I’ve kept none of them.

My experience is when they work, they work really well. When they don’t work, it’s a major pain. Every one I’ve tried has had connection issues requiring phone restarts and other troubleshooting steps at some point in the first few days of use.

I was gonna ask what one does when the phone loses its dam mind on wireless…with wired I just unplug it and keep driving

plus I need the wired to keep charging the silly phone

I am using Carlinkit 5.0 and am reasonably happy with it. I still have to open the armrest once or twice a month while driving to unplug/reboot it. But that’s a minor inconvenience for being able to keep my phone in my pocket all the time.

I don't like (anymore) recharging my phone in the middle of the day. It was an unhealthy mental obsession. I also changed the iPhone battery setting to display color coding (green, orange, red) instead of percentage.

I use AAWireless for Android Auto and just a couple of months ago I saw they released Carplay support for the same device. You might want to take a look at it or search on the Internet for others' experience with that. For the Android part, it's rock solid always.

From what I gather stick with one for your secice

Ie. PickiOS model or android model the 2 in ones have hard time figuring out what they are looking for.

I upgraded my head unit in my other driver few years back for 400 bucks for an really high up pioneer unit that has wireless carplay.

can’t go back. I love it. If I want to charge or not. Music and stuff plays all the same
