too tall IMO, stick with 275/35/20

40 profile fronts will rub when you turn the steering wheel as well. Doable for the rear, but front has to be a 35 profile.

What are the draw backs? I'm not very knowledgeable of this kinda thing.

I just don't really understand why the tire setup would be too tall. I understand body roll is an issue but only at high speed cornering.
Lets do this if I may, lets take a look at OD

Common setups upfront

275/40/19 OD 27.7"

275/40/20 OD 28.7"

275/35/20 OD 27.6"

So a 275/40/20 is 1" taller upfront then say a comparable 19" its also 1" taller then the recommended 275/35/20

This additional height causes your OD to be off causing suspension variance and also as I know rubbing upfront when you fully lock your steering wheel.

I have taken your advice into consideration and will probably be doing a 275/40 19 setup on my GT PP wheels. Is there anything I should be considering about this? My wheels are staggered obviously, do I need two different tire sizes or am I safe with my size?

You can keep them the same all around you just cannot rotate because the wheels are staggered

You can also do oem pp sizes

255/40/19 & 275/40/19

What was the price on those? I'm trying to find quality for under 1k. Seems like everyone is charging out the ass.
Sorry somehow just saw your reply, they were $252 per tire on tirerack, got them for $330/tire installed.

I didn't really get any...I kept getting outrageous prices (higher than 2k). I planned on ordering a set for 800-1000 off TireRack. Walmart does a 58 dollar install, but so far everyone keeps saying they can't do square set up, going as far as to say it is impossible!? Costco even told me that Mustangs are horrible in the snow. Yes, going for business and was getting commentary...
