That's crazy... 35k will get you a Fiesta ST to use as a winter car... I'm looking at 15kSEK tops, any more than that and it's way, way too much for just a set of wheels.
haha... I'm over in Norway dear neighbour... my clunker Astra from 2002 cost me 28k + 7k in repairs :)

but it did seem a bit expensive yea...

I'm also not too worried about snow as I live in a large metropolitan area, but sleet, ice and salt-slush are major concerns. I also believe spacers are illegal here... atleast there was some hubbub about it in media - but it may be because people had wheels sticking out from the side of the cars...

There has to be a way of slapping on spacers on the wheel hub and putting narrower 19'' wheels on there is what I'm thinking. It's how I 'winter up' my Focus RS now, spacers and narrow winter wheels. I figure, put a 7.5 inch wide rim on it and slap some narrower winter tyres on to grip through the snow. A narrower rim with a narrower (and cheaper) 235 tyre on there, and figure the brake caliper clearance out with spacers.

That can't be more than 1500 Euro...
Seems the choice is limited when you go to 19", as the manufacturers assume you want big wide rims to go with your boy racer sized alloys.

No chance of getting a 19" with 6" wide to stick in the boot as a spare!

What tyres are Ford actually fitting to the cars delivered so far? Are they really summer only? Are they all Pirelli P zero? Are they Z speed rated, or V for the ecoboost and W for the GT?

In most of the UK, we don't need winter tyres, but we do have winter temperatures well below 7C so summer tyres would ne dangerous and probably illegal as they would invalidate the car insurance...

Ford are fitting Pirelli Pzero Y rated tyres to the GT's.

A pure performance tyre that is truly terrible when cold (takes a good 30 min to get warm) but has good grip on dry road. In wet....well they are crap!

Changing mine for Michelin's PSS. An absolute wonderful tyre

Could we replace the rear tyres of EB to 275 without any problems?
Not sure how big the wheels of the EB is. On the GT they are 19 x 9.5 at the back, 19 x 9.0 at the front where we have 255 tyres.

You'd need to replace your (rear) rims for that. The EB has 255/40R19 (in 9" rims) front and back. You'll need 9.5" rims for 275. Such rims would fit just fine on the EB btw.

On a different note: I've been looking at good deals on winter tires and I've come across a decent deal on some Michelin Alpin A4's 225/40R19 100V. The V rating should be OK for an EB, right?

I checked some tyres on big internet shops, the really weird things is 255/40R19 (stock EB) are less expensive than 235/50R18 (stock tyres on 18 US Specs wheels)!!! starting price are 150eu VS 230eu!!!
I always thought to take some 18" to save money on winter tyres but seems like it's not the case!
The pricing difference beetween 18 and 19 wheels is not enough to justify 18 tyres...

Popular sizes are always going to be cheaper due to competition.

Regarding the staggered wheel sizes mentioned above, according to 'the internet' you can just about get 275s on 9" rims. Might look a bit odd though?

By the way, has anyone noticed that the rears on the GT have the same aspect ratio (40)? So the tyre wall will be around 10mm taller.
