I really didn't think the summer tires were going to be as bad until now when it turned 18 degrees this morning. Anyone one have any suggestions?

Was thinking about going with Blizzak but no clue which set to get.

LM32 Blizzak which is what i have on my PP wheels, they work awesome and still handle great considering it isnt a summer performance tire. I paid $1400 installed. you better get them ASAP. ive had mine on since November 4th

I highly recommend buying a separate set of wheels to mount your winter tires. Because come summer, if you've already got a different set of tires mounted on a different set of wheels, you can just change out the wheels yourself in less than 30 mins. Otherwise you would have to take it to get the tires swapped on the PP wheels, re-balanced and that costs $$$. You can get the cheapest set of wheels that will fit to mount your winter tires.

I used Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT on my Eco w/PP and like them. 225/45 on 18x8. Surprising amount of grip in the dry given the size of the tire I got. My only complain with them is that the sidewall is a bit squishy. If you're willing to drop the extra cash I'd go 235/50 though.

Drove them in ice/snow this morning and they performed great. I don't have the premium so traction was set to normal since I don't have rain/snow mode, but not a single issue.

I have Blizzak LM-32s (255/40-19 front, 275/40-19 rear) on the factory PP wheels, too... So far so good...

I've got the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2's and they are great so far. Its been -25 here with lots of packed snow and ice lately and i've had no issues. If you put it in the snow mode it really limits the amount of wheel spin you get and helps stop the rear end from sliding out under normal driving as long as your not mashing the pedal to the floor.

Funny I keep coming back to the Blizaak LM-32s too. But would anyone dare even recommend selling the Summer tires and buying some all seasons?

QUESTION: Thinking about throwing on some all-season tires for the rear. This car will never see snow, its the extremely cold asphalt temps that make me nervous. Mainly traction.

(sorry, not trying to derail thread)

If your going to do that Supa LA your better off putting all season on all 4 corners. Good tires help you accelerate and control the rear end but they also help you stop and turn. And since more of your breaking power is in the front you are not doing yourself any favors by just changing the rear tires.

If you have the EcoBoost Performance Pack you can use 18" wheels. Michelin X-Ice Xi3's I have on my GT are unbelievably awesome.

Note that the front Brembos limit what wheels you can mount upfront. 18" wheels won't clear them, some of the 19" ones won't work there either... That's why I just put the lm 32 Blizzaks on the factory GT PP wheels... + the car looks cool (I had nightmares picturing some ugly steel wheel on my stang)

Glad to have found this thread, since I'm in the process asking similar questions.

I just moved to Massachusetts, and not surprisingly have discovered that my 2-week old 2015 Mustang GT with Performance Package is a disaster on even minimal snow on the stock Pirelli PZero 255/40-ZR19 front and 275/40-ZR19 rear tires.

On Tire Rack, the ONLY suggested "Winter/Snow Tire & Wheel Package" is Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32 in 255/40R19 XL front ($274) and 275/40R19 rear ($302). No steel wheels are available, so all-around this is an expensive option if I also get new aluminum wheels, and anyway I've heard narrower tires with a larger aspect ratio would be preferable in the snow.

I’ve also talked to my new local dealer and they suggested buying 18” snow tires and wheels from Tire Rack and having them shipped to the dealer to install (incidentally, they also mentioned that I shouldn’t trust the Tire Rack TPMS, since they have had trouble getting them to work with cars, and that they would install OEM TPMS for me).

However, from reading up online, I gather the 15" 6-piston Brembo brakes in the PP (which are larger than found in the previous year’s GT PP) won’t fit many (all?) 18” wheels. Why the dealer didn’t know this, I don’t know.

Which leaves me with purchasing the aforementioned 19” Blizzaks and either swapping them onto the stock PP wheels, or buying some new aluminum wheels.

SO MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1) Any comments pro or con on the following wheels:

Advanti Racing BO Bello-Black Painted, 19x8.5” front ($222) & 19x9.5” rear ($234)

Tire Rack link: http://tinyurl.com/ps9vlc8

2) Also, does it make any difference that the offsets for the PP stock wheels are 45mm front and 52mm rear; whereas these new wheels are 45mm front and 45mm rear (none of the 9 wheel options Tire Rack offers exactly match the stock PP offsets).

3) Or should I just put the Blizzaks on the stock PP wheels, as rdycoss1 did above.

Thanks for any advice…

Buying some nice aluminum wheels is certainly an option, however check their fitment, I red somewhere here that even some of the 19" wheels do not clear the brembos....
