Windshield washer not squinting on my 20 gt. Pump is running, jug is full. How do you remove the jug, as I think there might a blockage at the pickup.

Check the tubing for evidence of a kink. If it sprays with the hood open but doesn’t with the hood closed the tube may be restricted with the hood closed. That’s what happened with mine. I rerouted the tubing so it didn’t kink when I closed the hood, it has been fine since.

Look for puddling on the ground at fender or somewhere along the cowl or firewall, which wouid be indicative of a broken hose or hose that has become disconnected.

You can also pull the pump from the bottle to check for any blocks or pump issues. Usually the pump can be easily powered off the bottle by jumping lines from it's contacts to your battery. If the impeller spins it's good - if it makes noise but impeller doesn't spin, you need a new one.

Following this one. My car is squirting for a half second, then stopping, but the pump continues to run. Someone told me to disconnect the squirters to see if it will run from the hose without being connected, and work backwards. Haven't had a chance, yet.

It's a 2020 car, why would you not let the dealer sort this out?

Convenience? Saving time? Not dealing with hassle? Not wanting to hear "we couldn't replicate your issue" for something that happens every time you drive for the 100th time?

The list of things I fixed on my 2020 myself instead of taking it to the dealer is much longer than the list of things I've had fixed at the dealer.

That's the best reason.

Lots of people have lots of reasons to not hold Ford accountable. I'm not one.

Believe me I've held Ford more accountable than most - I made them eat a whole car over bad paint.

Some things are more fun solving yourself with a beer in your garage instead of spending a couple hours in the dealership lobby.

Do you have hood struts? If so check the passenger side to see if the hose is pinched. This has happened to a number of members here
