I went 35% all around(including windshield) for my last car, and my current Mustang. This time however, I regret doing the windshield that dark. If I had the chance to redo, I'd do 50% because I feel at 35%, it noticeably impedes your nighttime vision.

Since I am quite good looking, don't pick my nose while driving and am not ashamed of my interior, I would get the clear tint that has high UV and heat rejection. ;)
:thumbsup: I was flicking a booger off my finger right as I started reading this.

Looks like no one went with 50%?

The more I look at 35% it does look tinted, but not too dark as to draw unwanted attention.

Exactly how it is. I've put 12k miles on my car since it's been tinted and have no front plate (required here) and have not been bothered yet and I DO pass cops.

In MN typically Highway Patrolman are the only ones that are going to pull you over for tint. That being said, any cop can pull you over for dark tint, if you have rules against where you live, just remember that. I have no front plate and have 35% tint, both illegal in my state. I have the Sto N Sho so I can throw it on quick if I have to. If I see cops on the road I roll down my windows or crack them so they don't look so dark. I have had no problems in 2 years of owning this car. I have had much darker tint on other cars over 20 some years, and have only ever been pulled over or questioned for it once by a Highway Patrolman. Your experience may vary ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My DD is an accord with 35% tint...

I have no front plate and 35% is the legal limit over here. I'm the guy that gets pulled over for the stupid stuff people do every day and don't get pulled over for (Not that I get pulled over a lot).

Meaning, I don't get pulled over for speeding. I get pulled over for going over the double yellow while getting into the left hand turn lane or turning on red.

I see people do this all the time and the one day I figure I will do it, I'm the one that gets pulled over. My wife use to hate how law abiding I am until I got pulled over for something dumb that she does all the time...

By cop, I refer to all LEO (town, county, state), if I need to be a little more specific. I commute 100 miles a day, 70 of it is highway and never have been bothered. I've had state cops ride along side of me, behind me, in front of me. I think it just depends on the time of the month for them. Clearly if they catch you speeding, swerving around cars, they will have more reason to want to pull ya. If I see them in a distance I will crack the window open an inch or more to also help light flow inside. Which is surprising because VA has some of the harshest traffic laws.

My WRX it took 2 years to get pulled and it ended up being for my exhaust (which wasn't terribly loud) full 3" with 5" mufflers), in my town by a State cop. Never said a word about my tint. But that had more to do with someone personally setting me up LOL because just so happened county pulls up behind him and it's a guy who just broke up with the girl I was messing with and happened to be in front of me (following her home) when I got pulled. Small town shady shit.

I've got 20% all around on my Lightning Blue. You can kinda see the difference between none and 20% in these pics, I'll try to get a good side picture later since there aren't really any of 20% here.

edit > added in two pics so you can see from the side better. Still possible to see in, but not sooo easy.

My black PP had 20% all around. At first I thought it was too dark, but the more I had it on the more I liked it and was a great choice...until I got pulled over twice in 3 months just for tint. One local and one state trooper. Both cops said they liked my car but stood out too much. I've had 35% on my other cars (both sport cars) and 20% on my truck. I have never gotten pulled over for just tint in over 20 years. It's the Mustang! Damn. I have a feeling if I went with 35%, I still would have gotten pulled over. Now I have 50% on the sides and left the 20 on the rear. The 50% is ok from viewing the car from an angle but straight on in daylight, I dont like it.

I've got 20% everywhere but the windshield never been bothered for tint. I live in an area with plenty of town police and the county police HQ and have been pulled over several times for other things and have never mentioned my tint.

Is it even worth it to tint the tiny rear side windows/port holes?

Yes, it makes it seamless over there. Well somewhat because they can't fill all the edge of it but looks a lot better than it would not being done.

Yes. Most tint guys quote a whole car price anyways. For continuity, do it. Or you'll have a window that's lighter and it won't look right.

I was wondering if anyone tried Huper Optik Ceramic film? I read that it has a mirror finish. I was wondering if someone can post their picture of it
