Window tint help!

Hey guys I recently got a 2018 shadow black GT and was wanting to put some window tint on it and wanted to see if anyone was running 40% or something similar. I’m from N.C. and 35% is legal and I don’t want to have to pull that mess off every year. Looking to hopefully see some pictures of tints around 35-45%

I installed 50% tint on my Shadow Black.Two reasons I like 50%

1. When I walk up to the car I can see interior of car. So if I'm pulling in my drive I could see someone in the car, etc...

2. It's gives a deep rich look of car, it doesn't scream my windows are blacked out you can't see me. It's more of who's behind those Foster Grants?

technically I can go darker by getting a medical exemption because I wear glasses and can’t wear contacts so then I could go darker but I don’t wanna have to go through that if 35 is gonna be dark enough. Plus I just want a good idea of different darknesses because I would need something more around 40 than 35 because if you put 35 over factory tint it’ll be too dark to pass inspection at most shops around here

I took my convertible to have tint put on. Since I've gotten ticketed for too dark tint before I only wanted 35%. They told me the factory tint was 35%. I haven't had it tested to find out for sure but they gave up a sale so I tend to believe them.

No factory tint on our cars is 70% it’ll tell you in the bottom corner of the window where all the writing is etched on

35% ceramic sides & rear. 70% ceramic on the windshield.

What colour is the interior of the car? That may aid to helping it not be too dark, etcetera.
Also, when you go to have tint installed, they can show you a sample on the car, to give you a visual aid of sorts.

Might be a good idea if there is already some factory tint. I assume it is additive. I kind of thought 50% would be good based on pics I have seen perhaps that will end up being too dark.

i did 35 on side windows and Zero on back and rear quarters im very happy with it... 35 is legal is CT on front, you can have anything in the back

% doesn't matter for heat rejection, you want ceramic tint for heat rejection

I have 35%, and you can see inside the car perfectly. Any darker (meaning a lower number), and it's unsafe, since you can't see well at night, plus everything gets reflected, which is super annoying too. And it's illegal to have anything darker than 35% in the front windows in almost every state for a reason. So that's the best compromise IMO, and I live in hot TX. Yes, it's not enough in the summer, but I always carry window shades (with suction cups) to block the sun on trips, while allowing me to see thru the rear-view mirror. Oh, and I also used 35% on the rear side windows, since they're small. But on the rear window, I used 20%, since it allows a ton of heat that deep into the cabin with anything less, and it's permitted in almost all states as well. Hope this helps.

I have 35% on mine. Ceramic tint through Xpel.
