My 2020 eco has started an issue of the window will not return to the fully up position after the window drops when opening the door and shutting when getting out of car. It seems to act up more in damp/rainy weather, so I believe it is moisture related. It started randomly not going back up after getting out and closing the door in passenger's door only, then it has begun not returning to the up position at all unless you open and close the door several times till it finally goes up. Then the other day while sitting a light not moving or touching any window switch it went down like the door was opened and then right back up and repeated this about 5 times before remaining in the up position. Both windows operate from all switches correctly except for when the passenger window does not go back up after door close it will not even go up by manually pressing the up position of either drivers or passenger switch.

I have done some research and found that there is a PDM passenger door motor module incorporated into the window motor and also a door ajar sensor built onto the door latch assy. I tried testing the door ajar sensor by having the door open and engine running while using a screwdriver to close the door latch mechanism to see if the window would go up or not when it sensed the door was latched closed and the window responded by going up about half the time with latch closed but did not go up every time either.

I am trying to determine if the door ajar sensor in the latch is only working intermittently, or the window motor is not receiving the door ajar sensor closed signal successfully every time the door latch is closed.

If anyone else has had this issue and determined if it's the latch or window motor that is the culprit, please advise as to which was the cause and if replacing the effected part corrected the issue or further repairs where required as well. My parts buddy had a similar issue on his 2017 mustang and it turned out to be the motor ad a jumper harness that had corrosion in the window motors connector terminals and circuit board. he said the 2020 do not appear to have the jumper harness anymore so may just be moisture/corrosion on the connector terminals. My parts buddy also stated the window motor connector is positioned facing up so any water that get by the outer window lower felt wiper will drip right onto the motor connector and likely short/cause the intermittent erratic function of the window drop function issue.

Curious to hear from others on this issue.

Buldawg76 did you ever solve this issue? I’m having the same exact issue with my 2017!

I performed the TSB 22-2242 on my car by removing the paper stickers that cover holes in the A pillars between the door hinges that will peel off over time and allow water to enter into the passenger compartment especially on the passenger side where the BCM is located. It was only my passengers window doing this and replacing the stickers with the rubber plugs from the TSB eliminated my issue. I won't say it fixes the issues in all cars, but it did mine.

There are several threads on the forum about it that go into much more detail such as the one @Cobra Jet has linked to above.
