Will I regret buying Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s?

have a stock '21 GT Premium convertible with the black appearance package. It came with the upgraded Pirelli P Zero 255/40-19 tires, but with 35,000 miles, they are really worn, and I need new tires.

I live in North Florida. We don't have a lot of cold weather (I missed the snow last month), but I do get a lot of rain. I don't track the car, and mostly drive on country roads and the interstate. The Pirelli's have treated me well as far as traction, dry and wet. I like the aggressive look of the Firehawks, but I am concerned about wet weather traction.

Will the Firehawks be at least comparable to the Pirelli's for wet weather and general handling? If not, it sounds like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 is the way to go.

Also, the car is all black, with black rims, and the tires look wimpy. I'm not up for new rims this go-round, and I won't lower it because I like the clearance for potholes, etc., that I see a lot of in my area. I'm hoping the tires will help the look a little bit.

I’ve read posts on here from some pretty knowledgeable people saying they are hard to beat for a fair weather tire. I as well will be needing tires very soon, and am planning on going with these. It also helps that i get a friends and family discount at my local Firestone, as a good friend works there. Hopefully keep the price as close to a grand as possible.

You will NOT regret going with the Indy 500s. I found them to be much better than the stock Pirellis on my Camaro but those may have been different from the ones you have. But yes the Indys are good in wet weather and I think look pretty good too.

I'm enjoying my Indy 500's. 285 square. I don't daily my car, but a few rain days were fine. Better than OEM for sure.

Good tires. I have them on the front of a C7 Z06 and on the rear of a Mercedes AMG 55 roadster. Great tire ..

I use them too, great performance for a stock car and they wear well.

I like my Indy 500. I'm not racing, so if you aren't racing, you will probably like them, too. If you like the stock Pirellis, these are better. If you hate the stock Pirellis, these are better. All seasons will not perform better than the Indy 500, unless your criteria is comparing poor snow performance with terrible snow performance.

Also, tires are not going to drastically change the look of your wheels/car. If you don't like the wheels, change the wheels.

Absolutely great tire dry or wet and their cost is more than reasonable. I'm on my second set and have also tracked them HPDE occasionally. You will be very satisfied with them. Go for it!

The current generation Firehawks were originally Brigestone Potenza P04 as I recall. I've recommended them often in my line of work and everyone has been very pleased. I hated my Pirellis as the were virtual nail magnets and dry rotted incredibly quickly. I'm running the Michelins now and am very happy with those as well.

Go for it. I too have a stock '21 GT Premium convertible with the black appearance package. At 29,000 miles I researched between the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 or the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S A/S. I went with the Continental's and they were so much better than the Pirelli P-Zero's I was kicking myself for waiting so long. Today at 62,000 miles I ordered the Michelins. I suspect they will perfom similar to the Continentals however I will gatehr my own data over the next year or so. My learning is the replaement tires are much better than the OEM ones!

the Tire Rack website has a good way to compare tire performance. I found it be very reliable.

Don't know about the Firestones but if you're running 255/40/19s go to a 265/40/19 I think they fit and look a lot better. I did that until I got new wheels and went way bigger\wider
