Just want to share:
Had the '08 GT convertible out this morning at 0715, top-down and cruised until about 0945.
Loved every single second of the experience.
For the rest of the day I was my wife's PSA - Professional Shopping Assistant.

Never fear my fellow convertable owners. The fact that Ford feels it's necessary to produce a Convertable says volumes that THEY get it. Tens of thousands rent convertibles every year, so THEY get it too. WE got one so we get it.

We win.

Oh, and Ford makes a coupe also. So there you go, everybody wins.

I'm sure someone has pointed this out by now, but this board is not at all representative of the general Mustang-buying population. You will see much higher percentages of both convertibles and non-GTs out there in the wild than you will see on this forum.

Enthusiasts (like those who would post on an online forum) tend to skew towards coupes and GTs.

Convertibles are:
More heavy
More dangerous
Slower
Less rigid
More expensive
More subject to NVH
Less reliable
Easier to break into

Never understood the appeal, literally paying more for a worse car.
From a coupe owner . . . even if I was to take all of your points at face value (which I don't), and assume that there are no other points that favor the 'vert (but as we know, there are) - that only makes a convertible a poor choice for you, not a worse car.

Bought my 2015 Cyclone convertible for $27,700 out the door...such a bargain! Changed out the standard cloth for Katskins leather in Purple & Gold for $1,200 installed. Funny how when I go to Mustang meet ups and car shows, everyone stands around my car and takes pictures. Beautiful boulevard cruiser that turns heads for $28,900. I only miss my 2012 Coyote's mellow rumble. Convertibles RULE the Texas Hill Country winding roads...

Go to Vegas. I saw probably 50 V6 auto convertible new mustangs, which I'm sure were all rental cars, while I was there for a few days.

I have read on here from several that a convertible is only good for a few months a year and then it is either too cold or too hot, I agree with the cold and during the midday sun of the summer but that still leaves all of the morning and evening commutes in addition to those spring and fall months. The way I see it, the car can sit with the top up while I'm at work and down when I'm not. So for me the convertible is only not usable a few months of the year.

When Ford makes a hard top convertible like Mercedes then I'll consider it. I just can't get past that cloth top.

I'm in the snow belt and the last day I had the top open was December last year. The first day was in April this year. April - December even if it's on and off towards the ends, still makes for a pretty damn decent run. Plus during the spring - summer - fall months, it's almost down every single day.

Since a bought a Vert Crossfire, just love them, and it feels so different when you are driving one with the roof down, much more space and the whole car feels brighter and more alive
on my S197 i was always driving with the roof down, and an ex hated it, she used to have her coat hoodie on, and would have a right moan
also great for weddings as verts get way more bookings !
