There is a Mach 1 locally for sale, huge markup.
at the other dealer in town that does many mustang sales they have a GT500 for sale:

My local dealers were offering MSRP or more. I went with Granger instead.
that is where I will be going as well. works out as I have some parts for my bronco in that area I need to pick up, take the 250 and a trailer, drive up there, get the car, trailer it back and grab the parts in KC along the way.

they charge any extra for that? I mean, it is a possibility, but it would be a nice trip for me, I have a few good friends along that drive that are all classic mustang junkies like me.

Yes. Zach's rough estimate to me is $600-$800. I'm ok with that.
thats cheaper than it'll cost me to drive a diesel 1000 miles and tow a car back for sure.

Thanks for the report from BR! The dealer with the GT500 is where I bought my '14 GT when I worked at LSU. I thought about checking down there after I didn't get anywhere with the dealers in North Louisiana. Instead, I ordered through Granger Ford on 4/23 and have already received my VIN (8/2 build week).

As expected, the sales people around here didn't know about the Mach 1 until I showed it on my phone. One guy said it'd be MSRP until he talked to the sales manager about allocations. He came back and said $10K ADM instantly, no way they'd sale below that. His argument was that their GT500 sold with 25K markup and that someone would pay 10K over for a Mach 1 -- not me :).

Just don't pay over sticker for a car. Dealers are making big $$ at sticker price. Let the cars set on the lot and they will get cheaper very fast. I payed 1K under sticker and that to me wasn't a great deal but I got a good price on my trade and no doc fee. Every dealers that try to rob you should never get your business for any car or truck.

Roughly $1 a mile to ship with reputable companies in an enclosed trailer. About half that cost to ship on open trailer transporters. I've bought a couple of cars that were 575-1800 miles from my home. Shipped the one that was 1800 miles away and flew out and drive the one that was 575 miles away.

We have 5 or more Ford dealers within 30 minutes where I am. I know for a fact two sold Mach 1 from the lot at sticker. Another one tried 10K over but I think that has dropped to only a few K over.

I went with my closest one, sales manager immediately told me “we won’t charge over sticker” like the other one. Then so happened he sold my father an 04 Mach 1 and 07 Shelby GT when he was working at that dealer that is trying to sell over sticker. He got a promotion, moved dealers and is at a much better dealer. He is taking care of me. With the number of dealers here it isn’t worth trying to sell over sticker.

Warning! Watch out for the new car salesman’s uniform of the day. It may actually be beneficial for customers to take their own mask into the dealership and put it on when the salesman starts talking crazy. Tell them, “Oh, we’re doing that“ and then don yours too. Haha!
