Why doesn't Sync3 retain my settings?

Every time I start my car, I see this screen.
Another clue is that rear camera delay keeps getting switched off.
I assume there may be other user settings that return to defaults as well.
What's going on here?

I did it from the touchscreen, settings menu. I chose the wireless option, which means you have to find your home network name and enter its password. I never tried it that way before, and I liked it much better than USB stick!

I think I put my car on the trickle charger, and turned on the car without starting the engine. I also switched off the option to "turn car off after X minutes" from the dash menu. Then I checked on the progress every 5 minutes or so. Probably took about 15-20 minutes?

Ford just released a customer satisfaction program, 24B47, on this exact issue. They say the fix is to have the sync software updated at the dealer for free. Or just do it yourself and save the time wasted at the dealer.

I update SYNC 3 with the latest version from the Ford website. This is a new version that I have after the update:

SYNC Generation SYNC 3

SYNC Version3.4.23188

Do I need a dealer visit for an update or it's the same software update?

I have the same version. When I go to the Ford Owner site, it says my Sync software is the latest version.
The letter I received about the customer satisfaction program, says the dealer will update the sync software. So, I'm guessing it's the same update to the version we already have.

I just called the dealership and they said because it's not a recall, they were going to charge me $175 plus taxes

So I have Sync 3 Version 1.0 I've seen so many threads about needing to update to the 2.4 before the 3.0 but that didn't work for me either....Anyone have any insight? The dealership wants to charge me $175 plus tax

So I called them back and they said that is only for 2018-2024 Ford models
