  5. Product to make matte vinyl stripe more glossy?

Yes, it's the same one I used. Too bad you have to buy a whole quart. But, hey it's for the Mustang. Maybe start a new hobby?!😂
  6. Product to make matte vinyl stripe more glossy?

Yes there is! You must mask off the vinyl perfectly first, but it's an easy task. I have done this before and it will come out fine I promise. You will need to buy wipe-on poly at a hardware store, or home depot etc. Practice with it first on something you can scrap. I used a soft rag to...
  7. Double Disappointment

Check Carvana, I had a good experience with them. Sold my 2014 C7 Corvette for way more than any dealer offered. I took the $46k and bought an SUV for comfort. Got tired of it, sold it back to the dealer, took that cash for a 2021 Cally GT Premium. Net result: no car payments, driving a...
  8. Driving in winter

One thing not mentioned yet, if you drive a manual transmission you can reduce speed on slippery pavement by shifting down instead of braking. This slows the car while keeping it in a straight line. This works great when approaching a stop light and many other traffic situations.
  9. Considering removing all factory mach1 stickers.

Fading might be cool, like 'ghosting'.
  10. Florida SOLD: 1” thick black wheel spacers

One inch equals 25.4 mm. So, perfect fit. OP, you might want to clarify this is for two pieces, not a full set of four.
  11. Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

So many red flags here, if it were me I would flatbed car to nearest Ford dealer and get all new OEM parts. Everything back to the hub. Detroit road salt and potholes, questionable aftermarket wheels, out of tolerance this and that, odd tire wear, and so on. Sorry, my fellow Detroiter, but...
  12. Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

Ok guys, we've beaten this horse to death, and I could add more science, but there is one more piece of advice no one has mentioned. Once you have finished your install take a drive, then when you return RECHECK your lugnuts soon after. You WILL find some can take a bit more tweaking. After...
  13. Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

Just saw Jstangs response... Totally agree, we both are correct, just got there from different directions. M12 vs. M14. Everything now points to bad studs, aftermarket? M12 versus M14...!!!
  14. Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

Not aware of that, but if true the diameter of the stud should be larger than that of a non-truck vehicle. This would require a higher torque spec to achieve proper clamp load on the hub to wheel joint. Result is, a regular car and a heavy truck would each have the same clamp load despite the...
  15. Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

Also, the broken studs should be analyzed for hardness and/or the presence of hydrogen embrittlement. It happens. I am assuming you have genuine Ford hardware.
  16. Why do my rear studs keep breaking off?? They’re torqued to spec!

Retired Ford fastener engineer here. Not sure why spec is so high, it's always been 100 ft/lbs for 5 lug design. If I remember correctly, M14 x 1.5. I would ignore that 150 and back down to maybe 120. You will get a warning if something gets loose, but you won't break the stud. What is...
  17. What car did you come from?

    Torch Red Z51 Corvette.
  18. Made my own fender stripes...flat black over black body color paint.

Used the Vivid product on Amazon. Spent about two hours getting the look I wanted. Designed them to bottom out at the wheel well line... getting the gentle curve right was challenging. Initially, I thought they would barely stand out against the paint, but depending on lighting they can...
