Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

I had the same decision before I ordered my Mach 1. Here are the reasons I chose Mach 1
-looks, Ford wins imo
-visibility is horrible in Camaro
-interior , not diggin it at all imo
-trunk opening , major deal breaker
I can fit a couple bags for golf clubs in without putting down seat, can’t do one in Camaro.
I can fit my entire Full suspension MTB in with only taking off front tire.
These are super important issues for me as I like to use this car for recreational activities.
-lastly, I just don’t like GM at all

Man it’s like sitting in a tank in those 6th gen Camaro’s

Personally when I get in a Camaro I feel like I could be in any kind of sports car. There’s no recognizable logo or designs that I associate with the brand. It looks like someone just threw a bunch of unrelated shapes together and called it a day. And I mean that from the steering wheel all the way to the left passenger seat.

When I get in my new 2015 mustang I immediately feel right where I left off In my 2005. The same shapes and dash profile is immediately recognizable from the speedometer to the circular air vents. I already feel right at home, just a heavily upgraded home.

I am in no way bashing Camaro fans. I simply want someone to explain why they like the interior as it’s clearly lost on me

Who said anything about liking the interior? Driving dynamics is all that matters. Though the waist height air vents are where they belong.

The 1le trim is the only one worth owning. Though the alcantera steering wheel was just gross.

On a very basic level. I just find the Coyote much more pleasurable to drive. Both cars turned some heads, but the Coyote won me over. Hell, I am even thinking about the S650. Lol

Really wanted the ZL1...but the visibility is a real problem. A close 2nd is the lack of rear seat passenger space. Already had a Challenger SRT8 and traded in the Charger SCAT for the Mustang GT. I almost got a used 2020 GT350 with 3k miles for 65k in 2021...if it wasn't red. Went with a new GT Premium for 10k less.

At 115 plus screens who's still reading, but anyway...
I drove the S197's as rentals for about 6 months off and on, drove rented Camaro's and Challengers. Only the Mustang has the feel I liked and better visibility. The numerous blind spots of the GM and Dodge were too much. The Camaro feels like I should be on my way to a drive-by shooting somewhere. Taking them out on the curvy roads the Mustang shines above the Camaro. Lastly while I made my decision for a Mustang before these end times, I felt that Ford would honor the Mustang legacy longer and better than GM or Dodge (now a Euro owned company). The S650 reveal last year I felt proved that hunch.

Well, I did buy a Camaro, but not what you'd expect......

'73 Z28 that spent nearly its whole life as a drag racer that is undergoing a bit of a change. It now has Ridetech four-link suspension, coil overs, big Baer brakes, Ford 9" rear, a TKO600, and a wet-sump LS7 making 570 hp.

Ought to give the Mule a run for its money.

I see all the time both sides say “interior is better“. I was simply wondering what about the Camaro interior was appealing. IF anyone here could explain what they liked about it I was just inviting them to do so

The visibility and lack of trunk space were deal killers for me. Gotta have room for the golf clubs, lol. The styling of the 5th Camaro seemed pretty well received in 2010 but I don't think it aged well. With the 6th gen Chevy should have redesigned the body and fixed the visibility and trunk deficiencies. I likely would have chosen that car over the Mustang because of the better handling platform.

I'd describe it as 8yr child who recently found a ruler and learned how to guide his crayon after watching way too much Gundam anime from Japan, vs an European (possibly Italian) sculptor using a rounded trowel.

I owned both a '19 SS/1LE and '19 GT/PP1 at the same time for over a year and drove them back to back. The "WTF were these morons thinking?" flaw with the Camaro is the greenhouse - that could have been trivially fixed by raising the roofline 2 inches and dropping the belt-line about the same. I enjoyed both cars but the Mustang was no where close to the SS in competence.

Still I kept the Mustang and got my money back on the SS. I'm looking to buy a 1LE again or go Blackwing.
