So I finally installed a Ford Performance x-pipe on my 2017 mustang GT. The only other exhaust mod that I have are Corsa Touring axle-backs. The car is LOUD, especially on cold starts!!! Holy shit. I park the car in the garage of my condo and when I fire her up, I'm literally embarrassed!!!

So, who else has gone back to a stock resonator.
Hey this is Junior from N4SM, Corsa offers resonators, they have a couple different sizes and options. I had the smaller ones on my car with the corsa extreme catback and they toned down the car a lot, honestly a little more than I wanted. They are a straight through design so there's no power or exhaust flow loss. Would definitely recommend looking into that rather than the stock resonator.

Hell no!
installed long tubes, H pipe and factory active mufflers. It’s perfect.

Yeh I’ll give it a try.

so I have decided to put the stock resonator back on. Can’t find any exhaust systems that have that deep refined sound I’m looking for.

Spoke with my tuner and he is going to tune the AE exhaust valves.

Quiet will be quiet but will open to full open depending on throttle %

normal mode will be quieter than stock normal mode.

sport and track the same as stock.

it’s just so I can have a difference between the volume. Normal track and sport are all very similar
Hi, I live in Spain to, Estepona. I have a 23 Mach 1 and am considering replacing my resonator with H pipe and glass pack / tube strait through resonator setup. Something like the pics that iv seen some do. I want the deep sound, but louder if that's possible?

The Mach 1 sounds great in stock form in my opinion like the Bullitt.
I’ve tried all 3
H pipe
X pipe
SwitchFire

H pipe will be the deepest
But the sound is very mashy and not very smooth or refined.

x pipe will have more clarity to the tone
But will be raspy when you give it some

SwitchFire
Best of both worlds in my opinion
Deep and smooth and very refined.

I was complaining about mine but it looks like I’ve had some issues with the exhaust valves causing the car to sound poorly.

Also a tune on these engines is great.
You really do feel a difference but we are limited on the European cars.
However I’ve found a great tuner in the US who can tune our cars really well.

Decided to keep the SwitchFire on with the stock exhaust.
My tuner has done a fantastic job and just sent me a tune for the active exhaust. Normal volume has been reduced and the valves are opening between gears and rpm’s etc. it’s amazing how the valves can actually change the tone.

I think I am going to go this route as well. I leave my car in track mode most of the time around town. I like the sound that way. I just want it to be about 10% louder. Will make my exhaust decision when i do the CF driveshaft. Mount the h pipe myself after and get an exhaust shop to weld in the bullet resonators

Will it really be any different than stock then?
To be honest I don't know, I was hoping someone had done the setup I am interested in, if not only one way to find out. It looks like many of us are looking for the same thing?

An H-pipe with 2 bullet resonators I can't see being much different ... perhaps in-between the stock res and a pure h-pipe.
