Got my kit in today! Too bad my transmission is still being replaced. Would have gotten my car back yesterday which would have been amazing timing but low and behold the brand new replacement transmission howled even worse than the OE build! Oh well gives me more time to study up on the install.

Going to be doing LT's and new cat back at the same time so will do a build thread.

On a side note I was going to use my wife's Tahoe to grab the kit but then remembered the top goes down on my loaner so let's give it a whirl. It barely fit and was so close it was almost like a sign from the performance gods.

All I can say is wow. What a kit. Really glad I stuck with black for that OEM look.

New member with a question for Whipple. I have a 15 GT auto and have read alot on this thread about your unit and I like it. On my last car with a different SC I got a bad tune and 1st pass it blew so I am scared to go this route again but love the SC car and believe Whipple is the best for me.

My concerns are I don't plan to race but may have soem spirited driving :) I want a kit with the added cooling for IAT's due to south Lousiana heat, do not plan headers or any other mods for added HP and would like to stay around 600rwhp max. Is this doable with your kit on a DD auto keeping boost probably <10psi, target 8psi and being reliable meaning NO BOOM? I know its in the tune and fuel so what do you recommend on that for my goals as I said I would rather keep boost down and not advance tune to get HP back, settle for few less ponies if it would ensure longevity...

I actually have these same questions and live in Louisiana myself. I'm looking for 650rwhp and will have headers. The car going BOOM is my biggest concern as well. Didn't mean to hijack but I am really hoping for some good feedback here.

Other than Frpp/Roush, nobody has done more durability testing then us. In fact, we tested at 650-700rwhp with multiple test cars, including track testing at Miller Park in Vegas on multiple vehicles and Fords labs that test between 0-130deg F temps. Held steady state at 200mph to control temps. The amount of testing is typically unheard of in the aftermarket. We're extremely confident in the kit and the engine. The logic built into the calibration is state of the art and constancy adjust the power to its given conditions. The throttle body is a must, the fans are also very important for consistency in hot applications. We've got a lot of customers in Losiania with tremendous success.

Dustin, are you saying the stock radiator is good enough, just needs better fan? Extra Cooling is an important consideration when going from a NA to F/I. A lot more heat is generated in engine.

No, he is referring to the dual fan kit (upgrade) for the heat exchanger of the supercharger inter-cooled fluid. Completely separate from the factory engine cooling system.

So dual fans and the upgraded TB you are saying I would need down in this heat right?

Got you. Thanks!
Ah, that's nice to have those fans, especially when slowing down from a hard drive. Smart move!

Factory system is fine for street driving. If you take to road course for racing, you need upgraded radiator and other parts. But for daily driving in 110deg weather, your good to go.

I am about to pull the trigger on a whipple kit this week. Can i opt for the upgraded throttle body without the dual fan kit and fuel booster upgrade? Or should i bite the bullet and get all 3. It sucks that i will have to shell out additional $$$. Is it cheaper to by these options when i purchase my initial kit? I want to be around 700rwhp. Is this too high of an expectation?

Thanks

I have the fans, TB and BAP and my car put down 670 rwhp. I have since installed Whipple's 10 Rib Belt Kit, Kooks LT headers, "green" hi flow cats and Borla Touring cat back and I am expecting to be right around 710 rwhp. I am just waiting for the upgraded LT tune to be released before I go back to the dyno so I will update everyone once this happens.
