Thank you! Very exciting times. My only second guess is if I should have done the install myself.

Tasca did an amazing job and I am now a Tasca guy but I really wish I did the install myself for the bragging rights [emoji41]. I was worried about warranty from here forward. I know it's not completely intact but they can facilitate some issues that the dealer I bought my car from would turn me down once they saw the supercharger.

Enjoy the install!

Jaime

Jaime,

How long did the install take at the shop?

I just dropped mine off at the dealership for the install and I want to keep them honest. ;)
(I had to do a dealer install to keep the warranties from Ford & Whipple)

Thanks in advance.

Mine was there quite a bit longer because I had gears changed as well and it took a while for the dealer to figure out how to change the gear size in the computer.

Tasca states 15 hours and the shipping and return of the PCM

terrific hp numbers, but why is the torque so low?

I think that Whipple might have mentioned something about playing with the cam timing to reduce torque or something along those lines. My car is the same way... works out real nice for traction though, thats for sure. The power comes on flat and hard but doesnt overwhelm the chassis into massive tire spin unless you hit it as hard as you can. Real simple throttle modulation and its rather manageable. A welcome difference from my other car that just lights them up 24/7.

I believe the Lund tune Whipple cars put out a ton more torque, but I am too lazy to dig up a graph.

Almost all are now using 4th gear for dyno runs. This vehicle has 3.31 gears and that would be nearly 195mph in 5th gear. 5th gear is 1:1 so the true torque, same everything would show about 25-35rwtrq more.

The motor is also extremely sensitive to detonation at the lower rpm and therefore we are very safe with spark timing to give us enough range to catch detonation.

I've dynod in three different gears with a manual and have gotten the same number back each time. Within a hp or two.

Dude why are you trolling all the whipple threads? Get out of here. I don't have any allegiance towards one sc over another but I can't stand people that troll and argue nonstop.
