I have been shopping around for a place to install a Whipple Supercharger in the Austin TX area. Two local performance shops quoted me around the same for parts and labor 13,000 for the stage 2 , which includes a 3/36 powertrain warranty from Whipple .
My Local Ford dealer is also willing to get me the Whipple that comes in the super snake and install , and this will let me keep their extended warranty that I purchased on my 2022 Premium A10 PP1, But Ford is charging 3,000 more .
Anyone here have any thoughts on this?
I don't know what you've done to the drive train... but 800+ hp tells me that you're gonna drive it hard. Have you considered all the other $$$ you'll need to spend to take advantage of the HP increase....one piece driveshaft (DSS), FP axles shafts, IRS upgrades (bushing lockouts, subframe connectors, toe link, vertical link, upper control arm upgrades, etc...). Is it a manual (clutch at some point), is it a 10R80 sun coast clutch upgrades. Just read some of the forums here... making more HP is like opening pandoras box... it almost never ends. Not trying to discourage you, just preparing you. Hell, I've done it to my 2018 PP1 (almost $20K) and I am still tweaking. It's half the fun.

The Stage 2 is advertised as 825/640 on a 93 tune. I believe the Whipple tune is for 91. Do not know how much loss there is with 91 compared to 93.

At 10% driveline loss
825 - 83 = 742 whp
800 - 80 = 720 whp
775 - 78 = 697 whp
750 - 75 = 675 whp

Is the Whipple tune at 91 going to result in that much difference?
They advertise it at 825hp but I’m unaware of anyone achieving it with an off the shelf kit and no other changes using PURE 93 octane. Honestly, they probably use some inflated driveline loss percentage to say it makes that kind of power. Something like 15-18% I’d bet.

The other thing about Whipple dyno numbers is they are skewed when using a Whipple calibration. They have some added logic in their operating system called race mode which allows less catalytic converter over-temp protection and more knock advance when the PCM senses it’s on a dyno. It does it by measuring wheel speeds and if there is a front to rear delta in the range defined in the race mode logic it basically allows it to make more power than it actually does during normal use.

And for the record…I have a 2019 GT with a 3.0L Whipple stage 2 complete kit.

I haven’t. Only drag raced once before making changes. It trapped 133mph before I started making changes to the car and Whipple calibration. Nearly any way you slice it, 133mph in a ~4200lbs car is under 700whp.
I may be tuning it for 93 shortly after install or perhaps in the spring. With all the expenses + installation I'm a bit tight on funds, but once I do tune for 93 I will have a baseline with the Whipple tune, then the 93 for comparison.

It's all stock, less than 2000 miles on it. Not going to go crazy on it , I really do drive it too hard , bit it will be nice to have. I will upgrade other things down the line

My tuner quoted me $11,500 for all parts, material and installation labor w/tune. Oh, new oil pump as well. But he's in Northern VA. Not to mention all the Ford dealers around the area send knuckle headed Mustang owners his way (that's how I met him).
Both performance shops here are at 13,000.
But withford I get to keep warranty

Congrats. You will enjoy your new found power and surprising hellcats won't be hard at all. Nor will surprising GT500s

If we do a little math using some (likely inaccurate and exaggerated) “driveline loss” figures we get the following using 10% “loss”….

0.9x = 680

I am perfectly happy with that horsepower 725 to 730. I am not going to use it at the drag strip just want a quicker street car that looks stock .

Well, the stage 2 whipple was installed and I picked up my car today, but its not working properly. The car actually feels like stock or a little less power than stock. Not sure what the problem is , but I am taking by the shop in the morning. At this point I am very pissed off. It will not even spin the tires, even with the advanced traction off . If anyone has any ideas feel free to share a..

Yes, probably the mct connector is plugged into the wrong imrc connector.
