So I finally have my Whipple stage 2 installed! I had a 3hr drive home from the shop and had to park it in the garage right away because it started snowing bad..lol. First impressions is that the car runs great! It's on the Whipple calibration, idles perfect, fuel trims look perfect, intake temps and coolant temps are perfect. Also no belt chirp or any type of squeal at all...the shop did a great job and the Whipple quality was great! One small thing though...I haven't had a chance to log it yet and there is a small hesitation whem getting into throttle...I'm feeling that the knock limiting is responsible for that. I'm running on 94 fuel which should make me more then safe. I'm gonna log knock as soon as I'm out again just to see if I'm showing any and turn knock limiting off and see if that's the issue.

If I remember correctly, whipples recommendation is to not run knock limiting.

Dustin told me that it’s way to sensitive.

Yes I have read that in many different threads as well. I'll be logging knock out of curiosity just to see and turning off knock limiting.

Smart way to proceed.

Glad to hear you like it, expecting my kit in about a week!

With the knock limiting on my logs showed up to 3 degrees positive knock and Hardly any negative knock. Now with it off, no positive knock and shows 3-4 degrees negative every time im beating on it.

When it was on were you feeling it hesitating? And now that it's off do you feel much difference? The roads are snow covered here where I live...it's driving me crazy! Lol:frusty:

The part throttle hesitation thing has been mentioned by a lot of people, myself included. It's not knock/octane dependent.

Knock limiting has me confused. Not sure you will know the answer, just quoting your post as reference. It’s weird to me to think with it setup with limiting on, you see more knock and with it setup to not limit, you see less. Just seems opposite of what the words mean. Can someone esplain it to me.

Yeah I have been reading a lot of discussion about it in other posts. I guess I'm just trying to be lucky enough that for me it's just the knock limiting causing it. Winter is still holding on here and i may have to wait 2 weeks or more before I can figure it out

No feeling exactly the same, logs are just way nicer to look at. It is still hesitating a bit, especially when i do the first pull after the car warmed up.
When i roll into it easy up to 3000-3500rpm then stab it there`s no lag just pulls.

Yeah I'm experiencing that same thing...anything under 3500 it's hesitates but above that it just pulls. I have a few factors that I need to consider where I live as well. Im 2300 feet above sea level which might affect the tune, not sure, and even though I'm running 94 fuel it most likely is a stupid winter blend. I just need some good weather so I can start datalogging.

I would also like to find out the cause. I have tried with knock on and off and no change.
